G.Skill RipjawsZ ready to tear it up on X79

    Code:
Consisting of four 4GB modules, the up and coming kit brings with it a total of 16GB of DDR3 RAM running at PC3-17000 or 2133MHz DDR. Taking a closer look at the modules we get a better idea what's going on with the timings. As you can see we've got a 9-11-9-28 setup that requires a grand total of 1.65v.

i'll show the 2400 16GB kit after NDA

    Seems promising.
Hope they will do the speed on X79, and not only DIMM testers

If they do - it means IMC is freaking strong on the chips!

LGA2011 CPUs IMC can do normally +2500 on 2GB density and 8GB kits, we will see the max 16 and 32GB soon.

Marc will aim for at least 3000Mhz then... looking forward to the X79, maybe it can put the 990X to rest or maybe not :p
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

that is... SWEET. great specs, great looks... whats not to like. lots of people bad mouth G.Skill but I have used them way more than any other RAM kit and have had less problems with them compared to anyone else (Kingston, Corsair you name it) Not to mention they are normally the cheapest.

Awww I was thinking recycling my RipjawX 1600 kit on SB-E. Should still be enough for SB-E? Or will this be "preferred">?

All are already on newegg. Going to be picking up a 16GB kit, I can't decide between the 2133 and the 2400 set though, is the extra cost worth it?

And extra $140 for the speed bump? No, definitely not worth it. You should get the 2133 model with the 9-11-10 timings. If you were to get the 11-11-11 timings models then it would be a waste of money because you can get the older Ripjaws X for cheaper and runs at a lower voltage
    Rig 1:
    ASUS P8Z77-V
    Intel i5 3570K @ 4.75GHz
    16GB of Team Xtreme DDR-2666 RAM (11-13-13-35-2T)
    Nvidia GTX 670 4GB SLI

    AMD FX-8350 @ 5.6GHz
    16GB of Mushkin DDR-1866 RAM (8-9-8-26-1T)
AMD 6950 with 6970 bios flash

Note the kit kit hiwa (and we) have. Our kit is binned better and has timings of 9-11-9-28. I'm told there is more to that difference than meets the eye. G.Skill does not know the pricing for this kit yet, and that's as recently as this morning.

    Just FYI.

I ended up going with the 2133 16gb cas 9 set. $199+ shipping from the egg. Does it come with 2 ram coolers?

Edit: This site has been so god damn slow for so long ugh.

These backwards compatible with Z68? CL 8-8-8-24 kit look like sweet spot for over clocking. Will have to wait and see how X79 translates these sticks to raw performance.

Am I missing something but why would somebody purchase the ZL kit over the ZH kit if they are priced the same when the ZH kit is binned better?
