the editor is good at giving idea but certainly doesn't have the in-depth knowledge in microprocessor design?
not every idea could be done and practical.

I hope they don't price this higher than the 2600k!

I'm guessing $249 hopefully cheaper will be its saving grace

It's only savior will be power effeciency

To little to late IMO I think alot of people won't even bother

based on OBR price expectation of around 200 USD, I will likely get an 8350 to max out my platform...and a second 5870!

If you look at AMD history, the price of the fastest CPU at launch was around $270-$280

Let hope that FX-8350 is not sold at that price, otherwise it will be overpriced compared to ivy bridge

ive been going hard the past yer mining bitcoins. the output of my card even at stock clocks is higher than a current 7970. a second card will double my out put. my current card will be lowered to 1gig but its a hit im willing to take.

ive never used my thuban for mining as the os gets bogged down and output is very low.

It's 5-7% IPC and some clocks, it was knewn before by the coolaler tests, now "confirmed" "for FlanK3r" xD funny.

Interesting will be improvement in power consumption.

Its a step forward in my eyes.. Not too bad, a tweaked Bulldozer. I will get one

    Kind of off subject of Piledriver here, but two questions about steamroller in case anyone might know;

    1. Is it going to be released as an AM3+ ??
    2. Is it still scheduled for release in the 1st half of 2013

Additional memory die on CPU package is almost a given, at least in APUs. But I don't get what eDRAM has to do with that

Yes, check it's instruction set. Piledriver has FMA3, Bulldozer doesn't.

The execution cores are not different compared to desktop-segment FX-models.
The CNB part of the UNB is pretty much identical between the two (Trinity lacking the L3 of course), however on Trinity it is highly optimized for power consumption and therefore much more complicated. The GNB part is a whole another story

UNB = Unified Northbridge == (CNB = Core Northbridge, GNB = Graphics Northbridge)

Still, I want both...Trinity A10 and FX-8350 Vishera. I like multi performance of Vishera. Its not bad step, because we will have +400 MHz gain with the same TDP at the same process technology. And this is not bad. ANd performance? Clock for clokck is a little jump, but always in architecture refresh is little improvement. Look at Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge. Its refresh and with smaller technology, still with the manual settings clocks are difference very small at the same clock (3-4%). The same is example Phenom vs Phenom II (but there was lower technology and added bigger L3 etc, but with the same clocks was not big diferenes in performance), or will be Steamroller to Excavator or Nehalem vs Westmere.

Why buy This RevC0 FX it's just a new revision of Zambezi core.

The first number does not change only the second number changed, that is a classic AMD stepping change

Phenom II 940 C2 now most chips now are phenom II 945 C3.
    the 9 stayed.

    FX Zambezi OR B2 = FX 8150
    FX Zambezi OR-C0 = FX 8350.

the fact the 8 stayed is clearly a sign it's just a newer Revision. (IMO)

Two question arise after thinking this 1 is what happened to Revsion B3 and second will they really be skipping piledriver in Favor of Steamroller then ?

    Wrong

    "Agena" DR-B2 = Phenom 9500
    "Deneb" RB-C2 = Phenom II 940

    "Zambezi" OR-B2 = FX-8150
    "Vishera" OR-C0 = FX-8350

    Similar schema.
