I've encountered a weird bug in SiSoft Sandra. When i try and run a bench i immediately (as in like 1 sec) get a BSOD.
I'm thinking it's the software and nothing to do with stability.

Sandra version used is lite 2012 eval.
Is that BSOD the "Clock interrupt was not recieved on the secondary processor"?
    P.A.D. had the same issue.

    @gOtVoltage:
I think we already realized that FX is fun to play with...however FX-6100 is not faster than X6 1100T (lags far behind stock) and at 4.8, still won't beat 1100T at 4.2. FX-8120/50 is a different story. (still only in some benchmarks)

Like I said, there's no doubting they are fun to play with and feel fast to you. First off, it runs at higher Mhz (despite slower overall performance) and you get to tweak something new. You might not care what loses to what in benchmarks, it's too bad...because most of those benchmarks are real world. For example gaming. Your 6100 will never beat an X6 in gaming (both benchmarks and real world...except maybe BF3) unfortunately.

I agree, but FX is more future proof. I'm sure more PC titles will focus on multi-threading.

About the Sandra BSOD...didn't really pay attention to the message.
I did try it at different clocks and still same result. Not in the mood for another BSOD from Sandra.

Its a Sandra FX thing.. Mine will do it no matter if its clocked or not. AIDA works ,Cinbench, 3Dmark,ATTO disk bench and many more work flawless. So i suspect its a Sandra thing with Win7 64 OS. Prime is know to be buggy also at stock clocks in 64bit . Prime will still run and be useable with out throwing a BSOD like Sandra has.

My FX piggy also BSODs in Sandra 2012 and message says the reason is - Sandra.sys. I searched the web but couldn't find why is that happening. Some of the reviewers posted Sandra results without mentioning this BSOD so how did they manage to test FX in that benchmark suite remains unknown.

You running your Fx6100 24/7 at those clocks. Care to share of that OC knowledge and possible settings as i am sure our mobo's are similar. I am switching to custom W/C

Sandra is fine in Windows 7 64-bit. It's the CPU...

Warning i use 1.6volts because i can..I recomend 1.56v or below if you do not have a real good cooling system
Dual Feser 320's with 86cfm fans.. One Custom Dtek WB i Drilled out to flow more water. I use MX4 paste, a very thin layer put on with a rubber glove. I use 1/2 Tygon tubing.

I first see what the Chip does Stock with Voltages up to 1.65v- and yes even past 1.7v sometimes.
If it runs flawless for two days straight i then tune the Volts down a hair and start finding the Max clocks on CPU Multi and htt.
I keep ram at 1400/1500mhz with 1.3v for NBvid sometimes 1.32v will be needed when im going for 5200mhz.

HTT above 250 is almost never needed,Seeing these CPU's like 1300 - 1800mhz with Tight Timing.. unless you use a high Ram divider prare to tweak the Drive strengnths too, this can be way time consuming. Most Gigabyte Mobo's can be real stable around 265- 280htt with 2500/2600nb so far with FX. Outa two 6100's and a 4100 some friends so far are seeing simalar results and the slowest aFX 6100 @ 4700 with 2600nb and 2133 on the ram.

Depending on the Ram you use, it can make or break your Highest OC . In the End your Biggest factor is HEAT and learning what you can give the CPU up to a given Heat level.

New F7G Bios with Turbo Mode Disable and CnQ Disable working ..You must still give the system a little more voltage to compensate for Vdroop

I used to think a single Tripple was enuff...Now i think a Third Tripple is perfectly Sane haha.

Kinda late here, but My FX-6100 gets the same bsod with sisoft sandra 2012. I can run 2011 with out issues.
Only other issue I've had is some steam games do not load.

Need to update my info, but I sold my QX6700 and DFI mobo and was able to cover all the cost but $50 upgrading to BD and and Asus Sabertooth 990FX.

I've currently got my FX-6100 at 4.7Ghz 1.45 vcore stable with the same water loop that was on my qx6700.
In my case the performance is better in every way, and it only cost me $50

Depending on what speed your QX6700 was running at, some single threads are a little slower or about equal :p
Phenom II was able to about match Core 2 in IPC, BD is about 10-20% behind in IPC so you need more clockspeed. At 4.7 though, you might be above that ratio...

    Just saying...

I ended up with the same setup (FX-6100 + Sabertooth + water), any tips you care to share for clocking the 6100 on this board?

When I get home from work I can post all my voltages and settings. I ended up with a stable 4.71Ghz. still trying to push for 4.8 Just not quite there.

Real quick off the top of my head its 261x18 1.45 vcore, my htt and nb cpu(?) are both at 23xx, ram is at 3:8 divider operating at 1746.
most of my settings are manually set and I cant remember tham all. once home this evening I'll post all settings.
