Well i was looking for a 4100 with no luck . I was shure Fry's or Central would have one but no.... I settled on 6100 from microcenteter..
In all aspects this thread is not gonna show how insane it benches or how slow it can go lol. I stepped up to the plate and thought i would try the new tech. I actually like this little fella. Its fun and will mature.
My Biggest gripe about any BD chips is that not one Mobo has a great Bios. My 990FXA UD5 is horrid with F6 bios . no unlock or disable core feature and almost all the multi and ht settings are useless. I didnt think i would hit 5G's this qiuck with the shoddy Bios at hand. As i see more mature Bioses for this Mobo i will post my findings. For now im Dialing voltages and seeing what this chip likes and dont like.
Bioses are holding these things way back.
Danger(Thin ice) ,, i think this when i change a setting in the dang Bios. Its so touchy ,you can almost not set anything custom. I mean ram dividers, ht, FSB, you name it.
Gigabyte Makes me down a 6pack and a few shots just to press (del) !
FX6100 5000mhz
SuperPi
5000mhz no shocker here..
My 555 for giggles X2
SuperPi at 4300mhz
One advantage i do see is with high clock speed ,it can come in handy for gaming fps. The more i play with this FX6100 the more i get hooked in wanting to get the thing faster.
