Just like data centers exist with all the servers converted to DC power PSUs by which they got noticeable energy savings. Or MS datacenter somewhere far up north to save on conditioning electricity bills. These cases also not making up common mass of 95+%.
Yes that's right, Google takes "extra" measures and does things a little unorthodox, but I suppose they can and, likely need to.

What I found interesting was that they are going to use water cooling that is centralised, rather an individual to each server "compartment" or area. What this likely means is parallel loops running off a main flow line, but I'm not sure if the cooling itself will be done en masse, or if each "loop" (leading to x amount of servers) will have it's own cooling capacity.

Very interesting, and a lot of it is really hush hush at the moment. I only came by this information by way of inside leak, but insofar as I know, the actual details of the data centre have not been made public yet here at all. The data centre will serve as a gateway to much of Asia, where previously the one in China did. For well known reasons they've effectively moved.

out here in their mountain view campus, they use liquid cooling in some servers and then use that heat to heat a building, as liquid cooling is the most efficient way to take heat some ware else.

google also builds all of their servers in house (to make sure that they good all good parts as dell/hp will not guarantee psu or MB or ram quality, they also will not back downtime costs so there is no reason to go for them) and they are supposed to get special parts from intel like 533mhz fsb socket 771 parts back pre i7, and they are supposed to also have some IBM stuff but im not sure on that

That radiator, straws for tubing, a shot glass for a reservoir, and a second straw that you blow in to get the loop moving.
