AMD PSCHECK for Bulldozer UPDATE: NEWER VERSION & INSTRUCTION HOW TO USE IT

For those who need AMD PSCHECK to change multi of each core seperately

    OLDER VERSION:

    http://www.megaupload.com/?d=DQR0MNQ4

    http://www.speedyshare.com/files/30877214/newtool.zip

    http://www.mediafire.com/?9i678uh9d7ob878

    NEWER VERSION:

    UPDATE:

    AMD PSCHECK 3.4.1

    UPDATE:

I added some instructions how to use it on LN2 on Crosshair V Formula

Make sure that you have those options set correctly in bios (9913)

Personally, I recommend using only 2 cores (on my bios screenshot I choose to overclock the first core from last module, 7th in Asus BIOS)

Trust me, I know your pain, I hate special/internal/"xtreme" versions of software only for the chosen one, special/favourite overclockers/testers. Even if normal/not sponsored overclocker has the same skill/very good or even better CPU can't beat those who use software with special options for overclocking. As I managed to get it, not from AMD or anyone connected with AMD, I decided to share with it, to help overclockers and community. Let everyone has the same chances and play fair. Till now there is no other software capable of overclocking cores separetely. Have fun

We need this tested ASAP! How big of a difference does it make in single and dual-threaded apps (like games)?

EDIT: Interesting, it installed and works with my Phenom II X4 940 Kinda pointless on this CPU but might be useful to an X6 owner.

Its really only for benching, they used it in that 8.4ghz WR.

Thank you man, i really appreciate it, every little bit counts!

I have no idea why AMD makes this program so rare, its like the MSI afterburner extreme, or the bigfoot network benchmark, i just see no point in making it not public. I do see how it can hurt hardware if used in correctly, but that is just a bad excuse because the none extreme version of afterburner can do the same.

Yes I agree, it's just a bad excuse, bad settings in BIOS, Windows or in other software like AMD Overdrive (public) can do the same hurt for FX performance...

    Heres one excuse...

    Ability to set Turbo p-state.
Lets say my CPU (1100T) looks like this in PSCheck:

Name:	fail1100T.jpg
Views:	9918
Size:	38.6 KB
ID:	121565

...and I'm running 4.1 Ghz at 1.525v idle...that will set my CPU to 4.6 and 1.675v...

It's silly excuse cause you can manually via BIOS or overclock program of your mobo set 4.6 and 1.6v+...

This program is a bit complicated at first glance and you have to know what are you doing, just like in BIOS, we know that 4.0 GHz na 1.8v on stock cooler will kill our CPUs but we have those options in BIOS. We have to use this software to if we want to achieve absolute maximum on our FX cpus. And if AMD doesn't want to show this publicly, okay, but why they DON'T publish working Overdrive program? The newest version, from 20.10 still doesn't allow to control multies separately and this PSCHECK is from MAY 2011... I don't mean to equip every CPU with this program in BOX but it should be available for overclockers, not only special ones

It is not technically possible to adjust the multiplier for each core separately.
Both cores within the same compute unit will use the same multiplier no matter what AOD, PSCheck, CPU-Z etc reads.

I'm just saying, what a user might think as 3700 / 1.475 would be upwards of 4.6 + 1.7v depending on LLC settings in my example...

You are right this utility makes possible setting on each module different frequency but there is no other software allowing changing multipliers separately on modules

You are right this utility makes possible setting on each module (two cores) different frequency but there is no other software allowing changing multipliers separately on modules so You can have 4 different frequencies with FX CPU

those instructions are making the tool a little complicated.

    Boot 1 core 2 cu

Pstate config all cores checked uncheck PB0 and PB1 go to boost configuration, disable cpb, save cpu's and exit.

Go back to pstate config, set P0 Fid multi, save exit, go down with both cores than back up, after the first time only need to go down with 1 core and back up....... ( the second core )

I leave the core idling on pstate 1 while changing multis for valid.

Btw the program wasn't shared due to NDA, not special treatment and also was not public for other reasons.

One of those being that if ocing cores other than core 1/2 cpu's were dying for no reason.

Example boot with core 1/2 and 7/8 enabled, try to validate on 7/8 = poof FF cpu junk........( this was at high volts on ln2 )

Have fun and play at your own risk

Waiting for a updated version of k10 stat myself that is less buggy and uses less overhead.

Yep. That's what I normally use. Just wanted to mention it since the thread title makes it seem like a BD-specific tool.
