Yes as long as your CPU can do the multi you need for the 5Ghz without PLL OV on. Whant has been causing problems with S3 is the PLL OV feature. Btw I think that at least in ASUS latest BIOS they some-how fixed it, but I'm no sure, haven't tested it myself.

Well, You inspired me to do some digging of my own...

I will update again when I get another list. P67 ORom is 10.5 until 10.6 goes final at Intel.

So maybe it really is sorted now..but a new issue I did not realize before..It could be also down to the type of Ram being used...my stuff I have is pretty old so maybe thats partly to do with it..

That was the bios I was talking about. And it shows as I sad that there was a problem returning from S3 with PLL OV. If your CPU needs it for 50x, try 5Ghz with 49x or 48x your would have to add just a bit of bclk. 102 and 104Mhz.

I'vent tested the "fixed" one, so no idea if it works or not. I still use one of the 14XX bios ( this in M4E ). With other mobo manufactors I've no idea were they stand, the S3 was an all-brand problem, so if they haven't realesed a "fixed" version yet it won't be fixed.

What I ment was that before that "fixed" bios you wouldn't be able to return from S3 while having PLL OV enabled. And that release not clearly backup my statement.

That's strange, I don't get any problems from bumping the bclk even with hight multis. Bump VccSA e VccIO.

And sorry if my english ain't that good Greetings from Portugal.

    ah interesting..

I must try bumping those volts as you suggest and see what happens..

I remember in the past attempting the 49 multiplier and it would resume from sleep ok, but then crash shortly after..

    Another Question

with your CPU overclocked, does it show the OC Speed in Windows via Computer Properties ?

My P67 Fatal1ty will show OC speed in CPU-Z just fine, but not in Windows which is annoying

I was on Holiday in Alvor last year Where a bouts are you ?

    Your English is fine

    Jonny

That's really normal, windows wont get the accurate freq of this new CPU's, because what I think it does is default mulit*bclk, you are likly to find a slight freq change in windows if you overclock with bclk but I'm not sure of it. CPU-Z is and allways has been the best way to check clock speed out.

    P.S.

I know alvor really well, I once had a beach house over there :p And I usually go to Portimão for vacations. Greetings

Windows always reads the default Multi on Intel's!

If you OC the FSB on 775 it thinks you still have the highest Multi set and lists something crazy like 5-6GHZ for the CPU speed!

S3 and CPU PLL ON has been finally fixed with the latest bios 2001.
Just tested it myself and it works...almost a year later but finally we have a solution....time to go past my 4.8ghz wall since I rely on standby for daily use.
