Are you using Google Chrome to browse the forum by any chance? It does that sometimes.

It isn't the browser. It's the forums.
Though FF makes it a little easier to avoid the double post I have noticed.

Does Free-DC stats update points differently than WCG site? Free-DC lists me above 5200 for the day so far yet WCG has me just above 20k

Free-DC lists scores in BOINC points, not WCG points and updates after WCG (since they have to wait for WCG to publish the stats before they can run their scripts).

but i mean for WCG, Free-DC lists my WCG Boinc points as 5600. iirc the ratio between wcg and Boinc was about 7 which would mean id throw down 39k WCG points, but on WCG website i've only put down just over 20k for some reason.

Just to complicate the issue a little further WCG updates personal stats twice a day and team stats just the one, so if Free-DC took their stats between those times then they will be out of sync with what you see on the WCG page after the end of day stats. If Free-DC also happen to grab those stats at different times on different days for some reason, like network or server outages or the guy that runs the script went out for nachos or something, then their numbers will be all over the place. Not actually WRONG as such, but out of sync. That's why I get my WCG stats direct from WCG and don't really worry about other sites.

I'm stuffing around building different browsers at the moment. So far I'm finding Chrome (Chromium to be precise, the open source version) the fastest but I haven't got it playing nice with all my forums as yet. Firefox 7 isn't quite as quick but it's close and still lightyears ahead of FF4. (all 64bit as well)

I stand by my experience with opera. love it. not all websites play nice with opera but nothings perfect.
200 tabs from cold start? Opera's up and running before mozilla can display its logo.

but different thread. back to numbers!
