Guys I don't want to ruin the party but this is JUST NOT RIGHT
http://blogs.amd.com/play/2011/10/11...st-processors/
See the blog ?
Watch the video promoting FX
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rDwXuAINJk
Now please watch it at 1080p with Full screen , wait until it shows Cinebench R11 Result compare FX-8150 with Core i7-980X
Notice the 980X screen
When the screen of 980X Zoom in , you will notice Cinebench R11 info shows the CPU isn't 980X , it shows up Core i?-____ K
I can't believe that AMD did this and post it in their blog ( they did closed the comment section of YouTube to "damage control " I guess )
This is JUST NOT RIGHT
As a long term AMD fan ( I have been using AMD processor since K6-2 300MHz til now 1090T )
Even Bulldozer is disappointing , I don't mind , and I just consider to grab a FX-4100 just for the Overclocking fun.
This is JUST NOT RIGHT !!!!
can somebody explain me why AMD's core i7 980X scores 5.42 pts in cinebench 11.5?

I heart gomeler!
Instead of remove / fix the video
They LOCK the comment section and not allow viewer to comment
Take down the video FFS !
Well I presume after it gets enough negative comments they will 'clarify' it , somehow, PR is paid for cleaning mess like this. Not that I'm not smiling quite a lot, this is just sad. Like come on, admit it, you dropped the ball on this one, but it looks like they're trying to polish the turd. A polished Turd is still a turd even when polished to mirror sheen.

Well, seeing people got banned from AMD forum for just mentioning this "error", I am not so sure that this is indeed "just an error".
http://forums.anandtech.com/showpost...5&postcount=90
I hope I don't get banned from XS because of this
If you see the blog link and the YouTube video, you can see what I said and they still have it up now
I love hanging out in XS and there are so much information
I know Bulldodzer is a flop , AMD need to sell it or all those R&D cost are down the drain
but please don't post false compare , instead of worry forum user and comment in youtube, they should be worry with INTEL.
I have no clue what the AMD PR / Marketing guys doing with this Bulldozer launch fiasco.
Instead of take down the video or edit it right, they ban the forum user from posting it (well it's their forum , they are the admin and they have rights to ban ) , block
the comment section and LEAVE the video on YouTube and the company Blog !!!
I don't think Intel like this very well and they will surely do something about it , which is more bad news for AMD
Indeed, it's too long to be i7-980X.
If you look at the system specs presented in the end of the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rDwXuAINJk&t=1m38s, it mentions that the Cinebench system is an i5-2500K.
Basically, the system specs at the end are accurate, but the text in the actual scene is not. Either they are somewhat incompetent with the labeling and proof-reading, or they are deliberately trying to be misleading. Either way, it's not helping their case.

It is an AMD promo video, who cares if they skew their own results, no one is going to take AMD or their competitors to produce accurate results.
I hope for AMDs sake that 32nm process improvements and tweaks transition quickly and smoothly. Improving yields is job one, fer sure, but a little 'logic magic' would restore some faith as Piledriver gets closer.
They stumbled a bit at the outset of 45nm, too, but once C3 hit the streets they were humming right along.
the very fact that they need to defend the FX brand against negative reviews tells us that AMD themselves don't seem to think Bulldozer is a success
perhaps I should get a 2500K before Intel starts raising prices

I actually found something similar just before Bulldozer was released. I.e these graphs looks similar but they are not. To quote myself:
Hold on... there is something really weird with the graphs. In the first Bulldozer is ~20% faster than 2600K in wPrime 32M. However, in the second it's 20% slower than 2600K. Same for other graphs, e.g. in the first 2600K is faster @ Winrar 4, second shows Bulldozer being faster. How come?

I do not wish to sound like I am trolling or anything, but why do AMD Fanboys keep saying that there is going to be some sort of miracle patch for "Windows 7" or some magical BIOS update that will improve performance by 20% or that we have to wait for a future OS to understand the power of the Bullshi.....Bulldozer facts are facts and FACT is that AMD have a Prescott Pentium 4 on their hands.
No patch, BIOS Update, or OS will fix that....
Bulldozer IS a load of Bull....

Stop looking at the walls, look out the window
Actually the retailers did not intel.
Quite funny to see this:
http://geizhals.at/?phist=580332
on the 10th the first thing leaked and prices went up for ~10% in an instant in most shops on the next day
And I don't blame them at all.
@john
We'll some are still in the denial phase and the hardcore fanbase desperately seek for benches that show advantage for BD, though they can't let the horrible power consumption vanish. I wouldn't be suprised if we see in a few weeks ppl taunting how BD runs so well on linux and pretty much everything will be not important anymore and only linux counts from now on.
Slower but smoother?
Friends shouldn't let friends use Windows 7 until Microsoft fixes Windows Explorer (link)
No point in posting any constructive criticism there as I have already tried. They simply delete it and leave only the brainless fanboy posts to make themselves feel better and righted.
I conclude from these blogs and all the actions of the "marketing" department at AMD over the course of 12 years since I have worked and built PCs that they never did and never will have a true marketing team. The only purpose of these blogs, forums, lies and deception are Public Relations. And that is what Mr. Nigel Dessau and his team are there for, damage control and information spin, nothing more nothing less.
When AMD decides to create true global media campaigning, event sponsoring, brand awareness, wide game development sponsoring, and simply put: Work to build a relationship with their customers rather than trying to re-invent the wheel then convince us their failure is a fabrication of everyone else... the Marketing Team at AMD may finally begin to do just that... Marketing.
Until then, thank you for your useless blog posts Mr. Nigel Dessau, CPRO of AMD.
