I was trying to find a MB to build a low cost gaming rig for my friend
there are plenty of choice for Socket FM2 platform but my friend want more multi-tasking so even A10 is not good enough
I suggested FX-6300 (which is the best deal in town, $ 860 HKD = ~$110USD)
the market got lots of ATX board for AM3+ platform but for mATX board
the last "decent" one was ASUS M5A88-M and the local vendor said the product have EOL and no longer in stock.
Only the cheapo and aged 760G based mATX with 2x DIMM is available on market
and they sucks (lack of USB 3.0 for sure, let alone SATA3 as they usually pair with SB710) , the worst part of these board is they tend to support up to 95W TDP CPU
which mean FX-6300 is the highest CPU you can pair with these board
I understand AM3+ will EOL after Piledriver (I forget StreamRoller will use new AM4 or Socket FM3? )
but why the market still got 740G/760 when the newer 880G + SB850 chipset disappear from the market?
