Because it's the only benchmark I bothered to run to see how it compares? Not like it matters anyways, since it gets destroyed in nearly every other benchmark by even previous hardware.

Not even trolling, considering I'm still running an Opteron 165 as my main rig. I'm a diehard AMD fan too..

I guess the games benchmarks was at 1280 resolution, and was like 300 or 400 FPS, hoping to some better gaming benchmarks.

Because superpi is virtually worthless anyway. You know this. This has been beaten to death ad nauseum so many times you have to know this

    But everything else? Meh

I'm still trying to make sense of what I'm seeing here, and what Dave said. I just don't get it, I've got to be missing something.

Guys, dont compare SPI across platforms, and please, do not mock that benchmark, after all, this is xtremesystems.org, and it is a highly valued benchmark, due it still isnt imune to tweaking, it IS possible to make a DIFFERENCE on the result, from skills.... So, the benchmark remains!
That you cannot compare AMD and INTEL on SPI, I fully agree.... But dont you dare saying it is a shifty benchmark, it is still one of the best!

Furthermore, I hope some of you reading this, will think about apologizing to LAB501 for all the BS stated about their testing method, and accuracy in their results!

The part of which he received a 2P or 4P Interlagos from AMD, and is happy as it contributes to WGC, I dont blame him one bit.

    Sad indeed.
Particle's First Rule of Online Technical Discussion:
As a thread about any computer related subject has its length approach infinity, the likelihood and inevitability of a poorly constructed AMD vs. Intel fight also exponentially increases.

    Rule 1A:
Likewise, the frequency of a car pseudoanalogy to explain a technical concept increases with thread length. This will make many people chuckle, as computer people are rarely knowledgeable about vehicular mechanics.

    Rule 2:
When confronted with a post that is contrary to what a poster likes, believes, or most often wants to be correct, the poster will pick out only minor details that are largely irrelevant in an attempt to shut out the conflicting idea. The core of the post will be left alone since it isn't easy to contradict what the person is actually saying.

    Rule 2A:
When a poster cannot properly refute a post they do not like (as described above), the poster will most likely invent fictitious counter-points and/or begin to attack the other's credibility in feeble ways that are dramatic but irrelevant. Do not underestimate this tactic, as in the online world this will sway many observers. Do not forget: Correctness is decided only by what is said last, the most loudly, or with greatest repetition.

Remember: When debating online, everyone else is ALWAYS wrong if they do not agree with you!

Opty is a CCBBE @ 2.7GHz @ stock volts. The magical 300x9 Seems to wall shortly above that, and won't get stable no matter how much voltage I crank into it. System still does basically everything I want it to.

Laptop has a lower-end i7, don't know exactly what it is. It was a sub $750 computer. Needed something for school so I wouldn't have to lug my desktop around.

I had a CCBBE too. With a crappy IHS mount so I ended up delidding it. Nervewracking Mine did 2.8GHz (312x9) at stock volts (measured via DMM, BIOS was set slightly higher). I booted and ran some programs at 3GHz with 0.15v bump but my memory was too slow and I could never get it fully stable. Pretty sure it was capable of 24/7 3 GHz if I had good memory to pair up with it, or at least someone who knew better what they were doing Did a 3.15GHz suicide run, got in Windows, and it gave a BSOD right after loading the desktop lol.
