[HELP] Unable to degrade my CPU !!

    I need help!

I've had this 2600K since march now and I just can't get it to degrade. I've ran this chip under ln2, with regular air cooling, air cooling without using any mounting gear. I gave it upto 1.75V, ran Vantage with it at high speeds and high voltage ... nothing seems to help. In fact, I did a public demo last weekend and I matched the same MHz like I did 7 months ago.

    Is my CPU undegradable?

I think I will RMA this one because it can't degrade. Everywhere on the power user forums I read that CPUs are supposed to degrade over time, but this one just doesn't have this function!! WTF Intel?! I cannot believe they would do things like this. All CPUs should have the same function. Period!

I knew from the moment I posted that people wouldn't believe my story. It's hard to believe stories that are posted on internet forums.

But, no, I am not joking. This CPU just can't degrade. It's really frustrating to see so many people with perfectly degradable CPUs post about their adventures here and on other forums while I just sit here with no adventures at all. Hitting the same max clocks over and over again ...

By the way, I have also tried running with only 1 core enabled as I read that was the key to success on some forums. But nope; still the same max frequency. FML.

List it on Ebay, but don't mention the whole truth about the chip, it's the only way to get rid of it

Serious, wtf? You are complaining because you have a RELIABLE, robust, piece of hardware? Your logic is unfathomable.

That is very unfortunate. Fortunately for me none of my chips have experienced this non-degradation. All of mine have degraded quite well.

There's your problem right there, you need to give it 1.750001V for it to start degrading! :P

I the have exact same problem. My old 2500k ran for literally months at 1.55v 5.1ghz heavily stressed and still does. What a POS! I ended up having to sell it instead. And you know what? My new one wont degrade at 5ghz 1.54v either, so I guess i'll have to sell that too rather than RMA it. This binning process is definitely not what I was led to believe. I was expecting one a week til I found a gem ffs!

    LOL.. He's being sarcastic people!

Although CPU's can/do degrade. I've experienced it with many. Not my SB yet but I expect it at some point.

The type of degradation I have seen the most happens like this (speaking CPU's in general not just SB):
System runs stable for weeks, months or years at some overclock lets say 4ghz. It then starts to fail, bumping voltage higher, or lowering clocks will bring it back to stable.

The part that gets confusing to most is you can actually get it back to the original overclock after some time, but it will soon loose stability again.

Usually un-degrade-able cpu is also water/moisture proof...A drop of moisture on the socket probly will help it fly back to its maker

    My personal experience:

    WC + Prime + 4.5Ghz + 2cores + 1.8v lcc xtreme = ( 20min ) = shutdown to never come back. Temps were hitting ~70ºC.

But that 5.7Ghz 56x CPU ain't bad why would you want to send it back to his maker ? I would do that ona 54x or 53x...
