    GTX570 with mcw82 + heatsink, anyone?

So im interested in doing a SLi of gtx 570 with Swiftech mcw 82 and their alu heatsink (without mounted fans, only case airflow).

Im looking for info about the performance of the heatsinks, since this vgas are quite hot. Anyone have try then on these (with the gtx 570 / 580?

If anyone have some pictures and numbers would be great!

    Thanks all

I would opt for a full-block cooler, especially if you do not already have the MCW82. If you do, then mounted fan is probably a good idea.

if you're going for new either way, you can't go wrong. full cover, or swiftech. they'll give you the same performance. it's wether you want a fan mounted on it or not.
If your annoyed by sigs telling you to put things in your sig, then put this in your sig
you know you're addicted to watercooling when:

I ran GTX480's with the Swiftech heat sinks and MCW82's, no fans and my temps on the VRM's and memory never went above 43c with an ambient of 27c. That was two of them sitting next to each other. I figured I was going to need a fan since the GTX480's get hot, but didn't need it and I have very little air flow across my MB. I liked them so much that when I swapped out to HD6870's I got one for my single card. I doubt you will have any issues since to me it seems the GPU is what causes all the heat on the newer cards. And by the way, my GPU's never went above 43c either, even while benching.

Swiftech MCW82's are greate. Your mosfet temps will be fine, specially with fan. And you can always re-use the blocks. My MCW-60's lasted through my 7800's, 7900's, 8800's, and 9800's.

See, I had a different experience. the MCW82 was and is fine, but the heatsink I purchased (swiftech model) had problems keeping my 280's VRMS cool. Maybe it was just a 280 thing? Regardless, the waterblock portion did its job fine

I dont want full covers anymore. Nice and shiny but you cant re use them, so in the end is a big waste.

Im thinking of getting 2 evga 570 classified and use the swift solution.

    Ty for the inputs

If you decide you want to get two GTX480's instead PM, I am going to sell mine and I have the heat sinks for them so you would just need the MCW82's for them.

I ran 2x gtx470 with 1 mcw82 and 1 ek vga hf, cooling the ram/mosfet with stock heatsink that has the fan on it. both GPU is about 28C @ 800mhz stable(stock was 607mhz). all you need to do is either get mcw82/ek vga hf, take the stock GPU heatsink(not the heatsink that cover mosfet/Vram etc) and its cover off. slap the universal vga block on, and you are good to go. the mcw82 is bit bigger at the base, so if using stock heatsink/fan, you need grind the 4 metal nimble off to fit the mcw82. the ek vga supreme HF don't need any modification when using stock heatsink, because the base is smaller than mcw82. but temp wise its about same, maybe 1c higher.

here is someone else did the samething for gtx 470. i imagine gtx 570 is about same
