does anyone know if the top 2 PCI-E are usable for long cards? The heatsink doesnt look too crazy but I can't find any info confirming/denying it.
Thanks

If you think about MSI then you should go for 990FXA-GD80.

I can find a decent picture, but judging by this, the second pci-e *might* be usable with a long card. The top one really doesn't look like.
Btw, at the same price range the 990fxa-ud3 has an alternative layout, closer to the gd80 but only the first two long slots should support sli (IIRC, gd80 will still do 8x on the third slot). Although the same first slot won't be usable with a longer card, you still have the bottom and pci slot if sli is used on the first two 16x. You better check manuals, though.

I think that this MSI and the ASRock Fatal1ty is the two top 990FX mobo now.

Hows the overclocking on the MSI? Anyone in here got it?
I was also looking at the Gigabyte 990FX UD3, the slot layout is good for me and the OC seems quite nice on Phenom 2 at least - http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...555-990FXA-UD3

What I've heard it's fine. I had a 790FX-GD70 and it was a decent mobo. You can get the beta UEFIs continuously from this location.
