1 Gfx card shows temp, other doesn't?

I've noticed this issue for a while now, but I thought it related to me running SLI, but this afternoon I decided to test it out.
One of my graphic cards EVGA 8800GT shows up just fine in GPU-Z, with all sensors working properly as well as in EVGA Precision.
The other however does not, it only shows the following(look at screenshot)

Both cards are running identical bios as I've flashed them myself.
Anyone know what might be the issue?

That is separately, I thought the issue was only because they were in SLI. So I pulled one card out, all the sensors worked normally gpu temp and fan speed were there and I was able to control the fan speed too.
Then I swapped in the second card for the first one, and got the above results, no gpu temp and fan speed control is grayed out.

I've flashed them with both bios the cards came with, one was the .02 the other was .01 I believe, still no luck. I did however manage to get Rivatuner to pick up the gpu temp, don't know if it's accurate and also rivatuner picked up fan speed, but its always at 100%... hmm I'll see what evga has to say about this issue.
