G Skill PC3-12800 1600MHz Ripjaw F3-12800CL9T-12GBRL
Hi. Memory C just had these reduced to £70 per 12 Gb:

So I felt like buying a couple to try out to see if they'd be any better than my vengeance modules, as I can either lot second hand without much loss on this price.
Some pictures:
^^ Taken using a crappy phone camera, they look a lot better than my pictures show. They are very polished, smooth and reflective and a lot brighter than the red colour of the R3E mobo. Black PCBs instead of green ones are also very nice.
The ram is rated for 1.5v 1600 mhz 9-9-9-24, but it works completely fine at just 1.25v:

(^^ I havnt resized this image, but for some reason the unzoomed version is getting hotlinked, so I'll have to leave it as a clicky link instead.)
However overclocking is a complete no go. I tried setting them to 1.65v, and they wouldnt boot at either Cas 8 1600 Mhz, nor Cas 9 1800 Mhz. So they are basically cheap, pretty sticks that run at very low voltage at the advertised spec, but nothing more.
I am very sure that they are using the same ram chips as the more expensive 1.25v G Skill Sniper kit:

I was also on the look out for some decent red led fans with low noise and decent Airflow, and spotted these Xigmatek ones at just over £5 (I remember when I last looked at these fans they were over £10 each so I didnt get them):

So I am waiting for those before taking any installed pics.
