He only had 24 to choose from, what makes you think all 24 were not cherry picked?

if thats the mainstream production oc, BD should be able to go over 9 +. It seems to me that that one was the best of the tray.hence cherry picked.?

Brilliant "just in case" hand placement there. You know, just in case it spills it won't hit anything critical, 'cause you know.... appendages aren't critical.... ehehehehehe

Anyways..... looks good for my future chilled rig. ;-)

LOL @ everyone who downplays the record. It's just what it is. It's Helium + 8.4gig + freaking awesome. I'm not angry that I can't do this at home

I was not there. If chew or others want to elaborate they can otherwise I'm gonna take his word. He made it clear that no real effort was needed for finding this one. Pre selecting based on VID only.

Sure looks like the slot furthest from cpu was the right choice and just barely out of the danger zone to me.

Always a good thing when it's a set of ram that can no longer be replaced and your own personal set that you would like to keep using

the large variation of LN2 results makes it look like no cherry picking was done at all. hell for all we know this batch might not have qualified for selling and they decided to just let them play around a little. i will be willing to bet that in the next 6 months the record will be rebroken 10 times. (unless BD somehow gets delayed 6 more months, lol)

why these tests arent done in vacuum chambers is beyond me. you might be able to bench to your hearts content without fearing the effects of condensation, of course you wouldnt see the board but thats a small price.

I would want to know, without expensive systems.

    How would u cool mainboard?
    How would u cool GPU?
    How would u cool RAM?
How would u keep Hydrogen in bowl?
    etc.

Its not really that easy thing to do...

the interior hydrogen bowl would be open to the pour, it would be the only opening.
I imagine a space shuttle like creamic foam inside, as on the underside of the shuttles, as a buffer to the outer shell.

Its completely doable. These events are mainsream enough for decent evolutions in containments, including vacuum enclosures. The entire interior would wind up ice free and super cooled.

I still have ice inside my cryostat, I work with liquid helium and supercon magnets. vacuum isn't totally vacuum when you have cables running around.

I'm taking a well needed break now, time to play with something else for a bit.

I'm preety sure that I can OC this 2.0 HO single overhead hampster engine alot higher if I dangle a large chunk of cheese in front of the hampters wheel.

God knows it needs it, this thing is farking slow compared to my maxima that got stolen.

Starting to look like i need to draw diagrams. As i said its contained. likely need to be chambered for the psu with the plug mounted on the shell.

Hey Chew just tell us one last thing: were you able to test any next gen graphics cards from AMD or did you use the 6k series for these tests?

    thanks a lot.

Lest we forget the LHE tube to be fed down into pot, got to have an opening for that.

It would probably be easier to just take a trip into outer space and bench in a no vaccum environment in the great wide open.

Sorry man even if i saw one i wouldn't be able to comment.

We used a really cheap low power card for cpu-z screens, I forget what it was ( macci ) supplied it.
