Is this Bokeh, blurring or something else?

Hi, I'm working with an industrial camera and was just wondering if, when i change focus, i'm looking at a Bokeh effect or something else

Bokeh is the balls of light in the out-of-focus region of the photography. That just looks like out-of-focus area. The first image looks more like diffraction softness.

Uhh Bokeh is simply the blur out-of-focus area, not the balls.

And yes, they are probably bokeh as you can see the changing focus distance on the green bar on the left.

first image is reference image with focus at infinity

It looks really soft. Corner sharpness is very poor. An industrial camera? What on earth is it?

Try standing further away, and zooming in on a subject, the bokeh at telephoto could be very nice. Stop down the iris/apeture a bit too, so your subject is actually "sharp"

Here's a not so great example of "balls" on a sigma 50 f/1.4 on 7D ( which is for sale in the XS general section btw :P )

    A better another example.

Whoops, sorry for bumping, didn't check the date.
