Seems they have some compatibility issues to work out, ASUS and Gigabyte boards are doing fine.

ASRock boards almost always look good on paper though...but until Ket got on things about BIOS support and become the official fanb...I'll quit there...

I dunno, their intel boards have been doing a lot better so I can see why they are gaining respect. This board looks pretty.
Agree with this 100%. Thought I'd give them a shot but their bios's aren't really well done and they take forever, I'll stick with Asus and MSI and I'm pawing this board off asap.

When I tried to have a look what the BIOS had changed the timings to after reverting to DDR-800 MHz I was met by this error:
Check your ram timing entry and use the default jedec timing, try cl8 or cl9 for 1866, 990fx don't support 2133 unless you OC it from there. I think the problem is the compatibility of your ram modules.

You have entered an invalid value in ram timing that's why it prompts you for an error. try using the default timing as I've said.

    goodluck...

    PS

I've emailed ASROCk for the last 7 days and they didn't replied to me yet, I've got problems configuring my ripjaws ddr3 1600 @ cl6 timing, and also requested them to include mem multiplier options in the uefi. Hoping they would reply to me...

The only problem being encountered here is the ram configurations and everything can be run on default settings. I think it can be corrected by a bios update hopefully, other than that this board has a lot of features it performs and OC so well not only on par with ASUS\GIGA but even more...

My ddr3 1600 is running @ ddr3 1698 cl8 so far so good, I'll check if i can raise it up a bit...

    max oc for my 955be:

If you take a look at the pictures I've provided and the text I've written you'll see that the board fails to do my Mushkins at 1866 Mhz CL9. Even with the CPU on stock. Here are the pictures of this again:

As you can see I'm trying for 1866 MHz at 9-11-10-28-28, this works until I decide to turn off the computer and turn it on again and this is what happens when I did:

I have also tried different RAM. Here are pictures with a pair of 2GB 1600 MHz CL9 (9-9-9-24) Corsair XMS3:

    Better picture: http://imageshack.us/f/685/beforeshutdown.png

And as you can see they work fine until I decide to turn it off and on again:

    Better picture: http://imageshack.us/f/18/aftershutdownandblacksc.png

After a shutdown even the XMS3 revert to fail safe settings. Even at 1600 MHz 9-9-9-24.

Also, there is nothing wrong with any of my RAM. All the sticks have been tested on a Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD7 and a GA-890GPA-UD3H (using Phenom 2s though).

And also if you read what I wrote, when I got that error I never entered any RAM timings. I couldn't. I was simply trying to read them of the SPD profile as the BIOS has a function for that. And when I actually did try to change them manually after having the BIOS revert my 1866 MHz 9-10-10-28-38 settings to 800 MHz CL6 after a failed boot to Windows I couldn't, as the error message constantly popped up whenever I tried to make any changes.

There might be an FX 8150 bios incompatibility issue there along with the mem modules, you'll just have to wait for asrock's reply regarding that matter for now, phenom 2 cpu's seems to be working fine, hope someone who also uses an fx8150 with this board will shed us some light...

I've just got a mail from the support guy. He said that they are working to implement the missing memory frequency (2133, 2400) options.

It works fine together with the Noctua NH-D14. I used the combination myself.

    Beta bios for DDR3-2133/2400.
For DDR3-2400,you need to adjust cpu voltage and cpu_nb voltage. EXP 1.4v for cpu voltage and 1.25v for cpu_nb voltage.

    Just 1.5v new BIOS.
I hope that runs better than 1.3 with FX-8150 ¬¬
    I test it this afternoon...

The good new are for example that you can reach 5150mhz easy, but the bad notice is that I can't stabilize the 8cores at any speed for play Battlefield 3 ¬¬
    Best setup voltage/speed is 4800Mhz.

I think that L3 cache causes lag to Main Memory ¬¬

The new BIOS and old BIOS have a bug calculating speed from the multiplier 21x. The BIOS uses the wrong value for speed and you need to restart to get the correct value.

    I will continue investigating...

Thanks for the info, does the beta bios 1.48v has the same function as to the publicly released 1.5v bios?

    I do anything wrong?
Have anyone running stable more than 4700mhz with Bulldozer?

I'm not sure if you have seen my posts on the previous pages but I had a bunch of similar problems with this board along with my FX-8150. The solution? I returned it to the store and bought myself a Crosshair V Formula. The result? No problems whatsoever. I just couldn't stand the horrible BIOS-support for this board, such a shame really as it seemed like a solid board hardware wise.

    interesting, i followed OP 1st page post re:LLC @50%...

yeeeehaa, always left it at default, set it to 50% (1/2 in AsRock bios)...played....

went from 4.1 to 4.31gig with ease, probably more, WTF does this setting REALLY do, I have huge Vdrop under load even with 50% setting and stressing/benching, .06v, strangest thing..

    wondering..

only recent thing I did was update bios to 1.5....

    laterzzzz....

I'm curious why this thread all of a sudden ended on 12-1-2011?

There have obviously been new BIOS releases since then. Have all the BIOS issues been resolved? Is it now possible to run (4) DIMMs at 1866+ MHz. without issue? Has the indicated frequencies for the multipliers been corrected? Anyone have any new insight or issues with the Fatal1ty 990FX Pro mobo?

Now's your chance to speak up. I expect a lot of folks to be popping a new Vishera CPU into these boards within hours, so I'd like to know what is and what is not right on this mobo.
