Just spotted something because your points didn't correlate to the benchmark score, your boinc manager version, i think they changed the benchmark, so you can't really compare that score with others, unless it's the same version, so don't worry too much about that.

The difference may be that you have 32 vice 64bit BOINC installed, the score listed for me was before I moved over to the 64bit version after which my score went up to 15500 @4.6 and now is 14785 @4.0. Moving to 64 bit did not really change anything except that score because I believe all the science apps are 32 bit anyway.

The 32 bit versus 64 bit wouldn't give such a large difference in values.
There was a modification to the benchmark, and the newer versions give a little less floating point and much more integer score.
Computing for Clean Water has a 64 bit version.

I updated to the latest BOINC and my benchmarks went down.

    I give up.

Don't be too concerned chasing the latest version for higher benchmarks. They wander all over the place and if you're playing with the alpha clients things can go very wrong for no apparent reason.

Arn't the points based off the benchmarks?

Just trying to figure out how to get my ppd up

Yes, but constantly chasing better benchmarks by changing to newer client versions will only lead you to where you are now: unhappy because the benchmark went down. The benchmarks vary during normal running anyway and re-run themselves every few days. If they happen to run while you're surfing etc then you'll get a crappy benchmark score and never know any different.
If you're out to maximize your PPD, start with the current stanble client, 6.12.38 I think it is. It gives pretty decent benchmarks to start with. Next go through your system and clean out any and all services that you don't NEED. With a bit of poking you'll find quite a few.

I cleaned out my Windows 7 Install when I first set it up.

Running 6.12.34 64bit right now. I was on whatever is downloaded from WCG site.

I think they're still on 6.10.58, but I could be wrong there.

    That sounds about right...

I did find some Itunes stuff that re-enabled after an update...

and went through my dedicated crunchers and cleaned out their services (and stripped them right now)

I know people like to scoff at Ubuntu Server, but the basic install is so minimal there's not a darn thing running that I didn't specifically allow. Yeah, it means learning the command line, but it's as clean a system as you'll get. If it's wasting cycles anywhere, it's probably my fault somehow.

Not afraid of command line. But doesn't windows generate more points than linux?

Historically, yes. Historically Linux also produces more work, too. There has been ... "discussion" about the difference in benchmarks and returns on many occasions both here and at WCG. After the last WCG server update, and with some additional development on the Windows science applications things seem a lot more even. My Sossaman rigs, for example, jumped several hundred BOINC points a day (currently around 1750 to 1900 odd)

I've found that SN2S gives a ton of points compared to the other programs. For example, I'm at 50 days for SN2S with 314,070 points, and 91 days for DSFL and 337,165 points. Run SN2S and your PPD should go way up. I have several days just under 60K with my 2700k @ 4.6.

Don't be surprised if you get a bunch of "other" work units along the way.... the project is currently testing all rigs so that they can create a database of which machines are good with which wu type.

Just checked the database, glad to see your 2600K integer score is up.
Now just do the same to the 3930k.

I did do the same to the 3930K. However it is an actively used system so its numbers may be a bit lower.

And I was thinking about the SNTS numbers. The reason it appears to be higher is it's a new project that happened near the recent upgrade that changed everything. Other projects numbers are based on the entire life of the project on the old system.

There is just not enough data right now being that the system was upgraded so recently.

Bun-Bun, i just checked again and saw that you already changed the boinc manager on the 3930K and the benchmark score is higher.
I (re)started 2 weeks ago after that upgrade, and as i change through the projects chasing the badges, my calculations tell me that Computing for Clean Water is the project that gives me the most points/day.

Submitted 3 rigs to the database.

That's the trend I was starting to see as well. Computer for clean water seems to be higher. I have that badge though already... lol

Pay no attention to my 3930k numbers. It's been down for a week running trajectory simulations. I put it back on WCG last night - about when you updated
