    KINGSTON KHX1866C9D3T1K3/6GX overclocking review

Although a lot of people have turned into a Sandy Bridge system, there are even more left with the 1366 socket platform witch is still the high end platform of Intel. After the discontinue of Elpida Hyper chips, finding a good overclocking triple channel memory kit is not easy.
When KINGSTON send me this kit,I looked around for overclocking reviews and the best results I found was 2000Mhz at stock timings. Without high hopes on overclocking potential I started pushing the modules.Soon enough I was surprised finding out that this kit that costs only about 140€ here in Greece, has so much to give.
I want to thank KINGSTON and HWBOX for supplying this memory kit.

    Let's see some results.

2000Mhz@stock timings without added vdimm was easy.

2000Mhz@7-9-7-24 reached also at default vdimm.

Maxing out at 2024Mhz@7-9-7-24.Extra voltage didn't help @trcd9

Changing the trcd from 9 to 10 aloud me to feed the modules with extra voltage and take off in the frequency scale.

    2200Mhz@7-10-7-27 with 1.72vdimm

    Maxing out at 2212Mhz@7-10-7-27

Loosing the timings @9-12-9-31 and adding a little bit extra vdimm, the memory started flying

    2400Mhz@9-12-9-31 1.76vdimm

Maxing out at2466Mhz@9-12-9-31 way beyond the rated speeds.

At this point(and a little bit earlier) I felt that my 980's IMC was having a hard time,so I decided to mount my cascade and make him feel a little better,so I could squeeze every last Mhz this amazing kit had to give.

Cooling the IMC alluded me to to reach the magic number of 2500Mhz

    2502Mhz@9-12-9-31

Nice review, think you need to play a bit with the RTLs to get better performance at 2000 and beyond... I had similar outcome with the Sniper 1600C8 (4Gb dimms) till I tweaked the RTLS... Job well done man !!

Can you test two sticks on 1155 plz ? would be fun to see if they can do 2133 cl7 at 1.7
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

All these Kingston kits are Elpida BDBG apart from some older ones (2010 rev) that may have PSC
