Hi,
in the light of lack of other threads similar to this, I guess this is due to mice not being overly xtreme (), I'm curious what fellow members use, what mice, pads, sensors grips, build quality, plastic etc. they prefer. If you deem worthy post your experiences from more professional aspect too, you don't necessarily have to play to have useful info to share.
I'm not very experienced as I used three mice to this moment, all were Logitech and I used them without many negative aspects. I have found lately that for the sake of ergonomics I prefer ambidextrous mice over those designed for righties, which I am too.
So, I used MX300, I found it very comfortable, optics was state of the art too given the timespan and resolutions which were used at that time. I regretted dearly for selling it, but as mice similar to that are no longer produced now I can't see if it would be equally comfortable today as I was a tad younger at the time and my fist was two tads smaller
I replaced it with the G5 in the summer 2007, which I used for over two years, and I found it equally comfy, I removed the unnecessary weights and their holder as default as mouse is heavy enough per se. It was first edition with blue lights, and after two years of use it showed signs of wear and I replaced it...
With G500. It was an incremental upgrade in my eyes at that time, I disliked G9 which was pinnacle of their products, and I was not into optics nor any other in depth details then, not that there is something wrong with ADNS-9500 'cept for slight positive acceleration with speeds over 4m/s.
Thing is, this is most uncomfortable mouse I've seen! It gives me such cramps after shorter periods of time that now I'm sincerely concerned about avoiding Carpal tunnel syndrome. I use a hybrid of palm/claw grip, but G500 per se forces your wrist in some awkward position, albeit at pictures it looks like the most comfy mouse ever.
So, I'm in for the new mouse, I was aiming at SS Xai for the moment, but they both use the same sensor, though Xai's shape seems more similar to that of IMO1.1 (considered the first gaming mouse ever). The lack and use of sensors for over two years old iritates me.
Deathadder 3.5 also seems deemed worthy by the gaming community especially over at OCN. There are a few of innovations inbound from SS labs in a month or so.
I prefer hard pads. I used func1030, 5L and 4HD which I bought this year. It looks like this, func>4HD>5L as I see it.
So, what do you gamers use, how do you play, what grips etc? Please share. I hope we don't stop at 5 posts
And please, don't turn this into one of 'I'm not buying that anymore' threads.
Enjoy your day.
