What mice are used by Xtreme gamers?

    Hi,

in the light of lack of other threads similar to this, I guess this is due to mice not being overly xtreme (), I'm curious what fellow members use, what mice, pads, sensors grips, build quality, plastic etc. they prefer. If you deem worthy post your experiences from more professional aspect too, you don't necessarily have to play to have useful info to share.

I'm not very experienced as I used three mice to this moment, all were Logitech and I used them without many negative aspects. I have found lately that for the sake of ergonomics I prefer ambidextrous mice over those designed for righties, which I am too.
So, I used MX300, I found it very comfortable, optics was state of the art too given the timespan and resolutions which were used at that time. I regretted dearly for selling it, but as mice similar to that are no longer produced now I can't see if it would be equally comfortable today as I was a tad younger at the time and my fist was two tads smaller
I replaced it with the G5 in the summer 2007, which I used for over two years, and I found it equally comfy, I removed the unnecessary weights and their holder as default as mouse is heavy enough per se. It was first edition with blue lights, and after two years of use it showed signs of wear and I replaced it...
With G500. It was an incremental upgrade in my eyes at that time, I disliked G9 which was pinnacle of their products, and I was not into optics nor any other in depth details then, not that there is something wrong with ADNS-9500 'cept for slight positive acceleration with speeds over 4m/s.
Thing is, this is most uncomfortable mouse I've seen! It gives me such cramps after shorter periods of time that now I'm sincerely concerned about avoiding Carpal tunnel syndrome. I use a hybrid of palm/claw grip, but G500 per se forces your wrist in some awkward position, albeit at pictures it looks like the most comfy mouse ever.

So, I'm in for the new mouse, I was aiming at SS Xai for the moment, but they both use the same sensor, though Xai's shape seems more similar to that of IMO1.1 (considered the first gaming mouse ever). The lack and use of sensors for over two years old iritates me.
Deathadder 3.5 also seems deemed worthy by the gaming community especially over at OCN. There are a few of innovations inbound from SS labs in a month or so.

I prefer hard pads. I used func1030, 5L and 4HD which I bought this year. It looks like this, func>4HD>5L as I see it.

So, what do you gamers use, how do you play, what grips etc? Please share. I hope we don't stop at 5 posts
And please, don't turn this into one of 'I'm not buying that anymore' threads.

    Enjoy your day.

    Lol, yes, what
    Can I edit it?

I have ~7.5 from the base of my palm to the top of my middle finger. You find that numpad on the mouse comfortable? How do you rest your thumb there at all?

I use Roccat Kone[+] and it's really nice. Not ideal, but probably the best I've ever used.

Optics seem alright tho, grip same, but the pricepoint is somewhat I'm not keen on accepting after G500. With cheaper mice you don't suffer a lot of damage if the turn up other than what you expected

yeah, func1030 is one helluwa pad. Do they make them anymore anyway?

I use an old Logitech MX Revolution + aluminum Apple keyboard. I'm not exactly a competitive gamer and don't game much so I just use what I use for normal browsing

i also use the Roccat Kone+ and mine has suffered the flaw of the Roccat Kone, the scroll wheel is broken and jumps like hell oh well
im looking forward to getting my hands on a Steelseries Sensi, looks like an amazing mouse
i have many mice, Razer Latchesis v1 red, Razer Mamba, Saitek Cyborg RAT7 and now the Roccat Kone+, the razer mice are very kit and miss, i hated my Mamba mainly cause the driver software for it was total rubbish

I saw Sensei, but I'm not paying price premium for gimmickzzz just to get a Xai with diodes. But they are ready to release Kana and 1.1 so we might be in for a little treat from SS. Though it might be the Kana==1.1, but nevertheless if it is the Kinzu with a good sensor I'll get mine in a jiffy.

I also use the Logitech MX Revolution. Hands down my favorite mouse of all time. I actually bought another one brand new in box off eBay 2 months back. I love how it feels in my hand, build quality, etc.

I am now thinking of buying the new version which is the Logitech Performance Mouse MX

How do you feel the differences between these two mice comfort wise? I'd avoid Razer laser mices - PTE and stuff. But hey, I'm happy it suits you.
I just might snatch one of theese new Black edition DAs.

I just noticed some guy in Singapore got his Sensei. Here is the link, hope OCN link is not in violation of the rules. On their site mouse looks plain nerd, but in live I'd give that it doesn't look half bad. Xai is sleeker tho.

Nice comments, I didn't even know about the Ace of Sweden, mice don't look half bad.
I don't have issues with features of my G500, but the strain. I'm not looking for a change for the sake of it as I bought it when it wasn't cheap either, at least over here. I guess it's weight and weird center of
    gravity are behind it.

If someone bought a new mouse and feels like making a review I think it would be most welcomed.

So far I've owned a Habu, then a Sidewinder (first gen) and then a Kone.

I loved the Kone I had until it broke down. The scroll wheel axis's design was badly done and it broke. It was an issue with the first generation of Kone mice.
Roccat changed it or claimed it had changed it. Roccat sent me a second mouse and despiste their claims, the second generation still had that issue. It broke when you pressed the scroll wheel.
I never cared for a third gen. I'm done with Roccat products. It's like Razer, pure crap under shiny lights.

I bought a G9x and I've been very happy with it. But it's somehow small, and it lacks buttons, so after a couple years I bought a G700 and I just love it.
The feel is perfect, it is comfortable, very fast, and loaded with buttons. I've never experienced any lag (it's wireless).
