Hmm I'm considering to get a new mouse, a razer ....my current mouse is a logitech, and it's pretty good for gaming, untill I open up a menu in the game, then it acts as if it had taken cocaine, ecstasy, absinth and cherry wine all at the same time O.o

I have a G5 for my desktop, and MX Revo for the laptop. I love them both. I keep looking at other mice, but these have lasted so long and are still going I don't see the point.

    THE classic.

Intellimouse 3.0, just bought a new "SteelSeries" one off ebay for 40 quid! Expensive but it's by far the best low sens mouse ever released, I dread the day when they're no longer available!

Using a Razer Abyssus here. I like small and simple but effective mouses.
Pad is Func 1030 (this pad is surviving years of gaming still without any problems).

As for pads, SteelSeries QCK+ ftw. Lasted 4 years and its only just beginning to fray on the second edge (I've turned it round), also impossible to run out of room, its 40x30cm!

I've noticed on mine that it gets quite warm, sometimes hotter then other times it seems like.
Not sure if a lower clock would cool it down or not.

It's weird, not expected, I've just been ignoring it.

Oh and one more thing, I thought maybe it was a true ir led.
It's not, you just gotta look towards the back of the mouse form under it and you can see the led.
Not a big deal though at all, I don't care.

The backlight on it you can just unhook, you don't even have to cut the wires.
But to doit you gotta carefully peal the large teflon pad thingy back .

    I don't use a pad btw, haven't in 4 years maybe.
I use my bed, or when I'm on a couch for ex. I use the arm of that, etc, whatever I can make use of that feels comfy.

Thought I'd leave an update of how my Sensei has been going being that I had it since the Xmas of 2011 now. All I can say is definitely the best mouse I have used. Comfy, very customizable and so far so good on the durability side of things :-) All my games played have made the control factor almost seem like the mouse is an extension of my hand into the PC. Plenty of bling factor, even went to the trouble when bored one day to put my own logo on the bottom of it on the LCD screen there. Easy to keep clean. Cord is durable just as the mousey, which is an excellent plus for me as my mouse is in a position where people have been known to trip over the cord. Just cos I can I just ordered a SteelSeries 9HD mousepad too haha :-p :-)

Still using an old G500 and some Microsoft mouse for work stuff.

I got a Steel Series DIII Edition waiting for DIII to be released though, gonna replace the G500 with that.

I went from my lovable G500 to a G700 because I had one of those 50% off coupons, friggin great mouse and had it for around like four months so far give or take. Only gripe is the stupidly stiff cable. I'm not 100% on point, but I can tell a difference between wired and wireless, it's nothing really annoying but little things like slow movement are a tad bit more hitchy. Other than that it's my fav mouse by far. That's coming from a DA, Mamba (shivers), G9, G9x, and G500 (looove avago sensors!).

    G500.
Side has worn off from my pinky sitting on it. Cheap materials, feels cheap compared to my G5 v1 (6 years old) that gave up the ghost 6 months ago.

I like this body style a lot, I'm glad Logitech stuck with it.

Yeah, G500 feels kinda cheap on the sides. But the design was revised, G500 is wider than your G5. I had the same one, the blue leds right? G400 is
the same shape with some great sensor goodness. I forgot the last time I had cramps and I switched from G500 in September.

I recently replaced my left handed 3500 Deathadder for a SS Sensei. I have to say, the Steelseries has much better build quality than Razer.

I've generally liked Razer mice but their endurance is crap and they seem to have poor quality control standards. I'm not even remotely hard on my equipment either ( I don't ever slam my mouse or keyboards )

I've owned a Diamondback and it died in under a year... owned a copperhead and the buttons wore out in under a year as well ( still using it at work though ) went to a lachesis and the mouse wheel failed and left mouse button started sticking in 6 months. Its warrenty replacement ( which is a cheap refurb ) did the same so I scraped it.

Went to the death adder 3500 left hand edition and its mouse wheel also developed an issue where it would decide scroll in the other direction and inconsistently so making it useless for gaming purposes and annoying for page scrolling. My replacement on that one has held up so far but I decided I'd try a Steelseries product for a change ( I havne't been able to use logitech as all their good mice are right hand designs and are uncomfortable as balls for a lefty ) The sensor in the Deathadder is great and very well regarded, but its piss poor build quality lets it down. If they put that sensor in a quality shell with durable parts, I'd gladly pay $100 for it if I knew it would last. I've always been impressed with how Razors mice have performed but they just don't seem to last.

So far my only complaint on the Sensei is the finish doesn't have the best grip so if your hands tend to sweat the mouse surface can become slippery. They have a cheaper RAW version now that forgoes the leds, on board lcd and settings but it has a rubberized finish similar to the Xai. The reason I went with the Sensei is I hate relying on vendor mouse drivers ( and my experiance with Razer mice drivers is not positive what so ever; buggy as bananas ) and the onboard profiler allows you to avoid using them if thats your thing.
