Sound Card, NIC etc. on the NF200

People were talking about latency when using GPUs over the NF200. Can the NF200 cause any issues with other PCI cards? If I get a Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD7-B3, both my NIC and soundcard will be running off the NF200.

    try this:
    http://www.thesycon.de/dpclat/dpclat.exe

if latency are under 500 there are no issues with your config.

It's at 275µs just idling with my current system (isn't that a bit high?). But I'd have to buy the whole proposed system I'm talking about, then load the GPU, sound card and NIC, and then check, right? That's not really helpful to me.

Here is an image to explain my concern:

Will there be any kind of bottleneck on that bus?

Also, is the NF200 connected directly to the CPU as Gigabyte have shown there?

Maybe I should get the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 - that has no NF200, and the board layout means there will be 2 usable PCI-E 1x slots off the z68 chipset which I can use for the sound card and NIC.

EDIT: Actually, yes I think I should go with the GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3, it seems a 'cleaner' solution. No NF200 and I'll leave the second physical PCI-E x16 slot empty so the 580 gets full bandwidth. That leaves three PCI-E 1x slots. One is obscured by the 580, but the other two have plenty of clearance for the NIC and sound card.

This motherboard also has 1xESATA Intel controlled (instead of 2 Marvell) which I prefer, plus 2 rear USB3.0 and an internal USB3.0 header which is all I need.

The main downgrade from the P67-UD7 I have at the moment, is the power delivery circuitry. UD3H is much simplified...

Also, how do the Etron USB3.0 controllers compare to the Renesas ones used in the high end boards? At least I should be free of the "A USB device has malfunctioned and exceeded the power limits of it's hub port but..." bug.

    personally i use an ud4-b3
    here the pic....

    i have 2 gtx580 + titanium hd + kikass intel LAN card

    PS: i hate nf200
PS2: is not a bandwidth problem..... is a latency related problem... and this is why i tell you to make latency test....

Well that looks perfect for me too, but they made changes from the P67A-UD4 to the Z68X-UD4, moving one PCI-E1x so I can't access it. I can't get any P67A-UD4 old stock over here so I'm restricted to Z68X-UD3. (looks like the Z68X-UD3 is the replacement of the P67A-UD4 anyway).

Yes, so will the Z68X-UD3 clear up any potential latency issues without the NF200, and with the sound and NIC on the Z68 chipset?

    no...

the board for you is: GA-Z68XP-UD3R

but you can choose the asus P8Z68-V PRO (have a great lan chip)

The GA-Z68XP boards don't seem to be available here, plus the 'P' is for integrated graphics support which I don't need.

I can get the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3R-B3, but I've also found the Gigabyte GA-Z68X-UD3P-B3 which has more power phases. I think I'll get the latter.

Let me know if there is any other benefit to Z68XP over Z68X aside from the integrated graphics.
