if you buy one of those monitor.... is better if you do not play online...

if you want to be competitive is better to get an Acer HN274 120HZ

Going to pick up a 2560x1XXX screen hopefully before it comes out. Won't really have the graphics to power it till next-gen though.

Looking at the u2711 and SA850, new Samsung monitor out with limited availability.

erm just because a screen is 120 hz does not always mean it's the best for gaming. if your gpu(s) can push 60+ fps then go for it but personally im more worried about input lag which is why i picked only monitors without built in scaling. the Acer HN274 has just as much if not more input lag then the high res monitors ive listed, also the Acer has been reported to have some ghosting. so please refrain from making obnoxious comments about my few choice displays, i've done my research on display speed. Sorry im just tired of all this 120hz hype lol

I' also quite looking forward to hear about the sa850, however i've heard from early reviews the contrast is sub par and input lag is still unknown.

if anyone owns a hazro or hp zr30w could they comment on image quality and your experience? Also if anyone has the zr30w or a 3007wfp-hc hows the anti glare coat? i tend to like glossy though, which are hard to come by in these sizes :/

Yeah, I'm also waiting for more reviews. I like the samsung antiglare coating on my current samsung monitor, so I think I'd be satisfied with it. I've heard the u2711's coating can be overwhelming because of the dot pitch. Next time I'm in Microcenter I'm going to check it out in person. The lack of PC setting control on the Cinema displays shys me away from them. Also, my apartment gets a lot of light so glossy doesn't work well.

i wouldnt buy a Apple 27" cinema display, cause they have so much input lag and response time is crap, the Apple display uses the same panel as the Dell U2711, so i would just buy that

The Dell U2711 isn't LED but yes i agree with you about the Apple 27" cinema display, which is why i am not %100 sure about getting it.

    Sean, i wouldn't get a 120hz monitor if it's mainly for gaming.

ya dont get and IPS for FPS gaming...
I have the U2711 and I absolutely love it, but for a FPS, not so much.
Almost any other type of game and it's great

hrmm okay i look like a total a-hole now, i apologize. I've decided ips and gaming dont mix well... which you all already know lol. So considering im gonna go 120hz now.... For 2d gaming how does the asus vg236h, lg w2363d, acer gn245hq, and alienware aw2310 match up? those seem to be the best.. price is no object im not just talking input lag, i mean overall responsiveness and ghosting too. i want the best performing, closest to crt i can get in a flat panel. anybody have a suggestion?

    True!

120Hz and 16:9 is the only way to go for gaming! Especially FPS gaming.

Hey thanks! Besides input lag though does it have ghosting issues or slow response times or such? I just want the fastest overall flat panel monitor. I have heard many good things about the LG, but the alienware, and asus have had equally good reports

Also any word of lg coming out with a new thru put 120hz monitor? Since they discontinued the w2363d

    quote.

the LG is the only monitor with zero input lag.

    you only set:

    color profile SRGB
    Lum: 90
    sharpness: 2
    Thru Mode: ON
    RTC: ON

you can be the headshot master......

The only issue with ZR30W is somewhat low contrast (700:1 or so). So dark scenes in dark rooms do not look perfectly dark. It's ideal otherwise.

I use my DELL U2410 IPS for gaming and i love it. The IQ of IPS panels far outwieghs the 60z vs 120hz on all those "gaming" panels.

I just bought a w2363d, awaiting delivery of it, paid a little more than I would have 1 month ago, from everything I've read I strongly suggest you try and get one. There is no replacement for it, well there is but it's not 120hz as lg have gone with a different technology for 3d in polarisation.

Ok so I've gotten the lg and I can not get it to work with the amd 6950 in 120hz mode at all. On some tests I've done, there is basically no input lag.
Looks like I'm going to have to sell my unlocked 6950 and buy an nvidia card.
