well 1.7TB of writing is nothing tbh. You will be fine for years and years to come! at that rate something like 40 years to get to 500 TB. and they can last even longer than that!

With the pausing and the fact that your writes aren't continuous, and the drive has time to heal itself, your endurance could go much much higher than anything we've seen even int he endurance thread. that is absolute worst case scenario testing, no time for drives to "rest".

You aren't the same guy as the one here, are you?

This person got it fixed by stopping to trash the SSD with the Firefox profile/cache.

You also mix up the concepts of virtual and physical memory, your memory calculations won't do.
I wasn't looking for suggestions, I was just wanting to know if my SSD will survive my abuse. If it's going to survive exactly as is I don't want to change anything

I do know the difference between virtual and physical memory, what I was pointing out is the memory load from each application is vastly higher than the amount of RAM I have installed.

Hey dude, you're getting me wrong. It's not that I don't want help, I just want to know if I'm going to wear it out too quickly at the rate I'm going. All input is appreciated, either way

Don't forget that with Intel SSDs you can use the timed workload to determine wear over a period of at least an hour.

On my system that I'm using to do SSD endurance testing, my X25-E 32GB system drive is getting about .6GB a day in writes while the drive I'm testing writes >10 000GB a day. I'm not using a swap file incidentally.

I'm still kinda confused as to why you'd be writing 85GB a day, but that's still nothing in the 5 year period that the warranty lasts.

If you want to learn more check out the SSD endurance thread here http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...Vs-34nm/page78

Ao1 created an Excel spread sheet that can help you use those numbers to keep track of your wear per the timeframe of your choosing.

I'm not sure what has changed but over the last two weeks I've slowed down to under 3.33GB/day (Intel's utility shows data written to an accuracy of 1/100 TB, every four or five days it goes up by 0.01TB).

This is a bit of a blast from the past. That same old Intel 320 Series SSD is still my primary drive and has had the pagefile on it since the start of this thread. I've written just shy of 100 TB to it and it's still at 80% health according to HDSentinal.
