It's bugged, no question, and stuck on LOW. I did restart the game as well before to see if settings changes would work then and there's no change at all. I tried custom with everything maxed, ultra, and low presets, nothing changes.
wouldn't be suprised since they want have as many players as possible, so they locked in on low or better on a fixed setting, which hasn't to be low.

    I.. I'm speechless..

What the hell did I just play? Please tell me that wasn't Battlefield 3..

    - I have never seen such a retarded method of joining a server in my life.. I am truly shocked how appalling this is.
    - Game starts windowed. Change settings, windows again.
    - The game lag is WORSE than BC2!

Theres endless more, I'm just going back to try again... Put it this way, If it's no better this time around I'm canceling my order. This is just a horrific experience.

The best way I can describe it so far is a mix between MOH(recent one) and BC2.

i like how PS3 gamer claims that "oh the cell has so much more power untapped. it should be as good if not better than PC version. look at uncharted 3!"

cant wait to use that comparison to debunk their claim.

Definitely wait till you play it, pc games hardware seem to have really maxed the game, I think they maxed all the driver options too because other people are reporting much better fps, unfortunately I haven't received my beta key yet but I have a 6950 1gb card that can do 5500 in 3dmark11 so I'll my results here when I get a chance to play.

Crappy marketing from Nvidia...high to ultra changes nothing and my single tie 5870 (waiting for the second) is able to run it smoothly

I hope it runs a lot better sans AA and Hbao. I played bc2 like that to get a solid 120 fps.

Ok whew, it's not to bad after several hours of play and adjusting to the play.

There seems to be quite a few bugs, especially when you leap over stuff.. Overall it's just this server browser and windowing which is really ticking me off.

Running quite nicely on 2x480's OC'd | Ultra in game settings | 16xAF/4xAA (Nvidia settings) Pretty much a constant ~60

seriously, the map choice for beta was a god awful decision on thier part....this is ing battlefield, if your gonna run a open beta to double as a demo.....use a map that makes battelfield....well, battlefield...morons at dice I swear.

theres a balance between not showing off too much of the game, but showing off the game for what it is (or should be) obviously the "lets not show any of the game for a surprise" idiots won this argument.

its not about surprises anymore, they have huge competition in the FPS market now....and they are trying to win over fans taking the "real" battlefield experience to console....show the freaking game for what it is and stop being so hush, hush...my god!! ....i swear if theres not some changes in decisions at dice, they are going to continue to be mediocre with games that shouldnt be. they need to rethink thier game plan here....everything was going alright till this decision.

expect huge bugs/balancing issues with air vehicles on release....cause the idiots at dice right now have too big of a head and are trying to be way too close curtain about this game.

Note to people trying to compare the graphical settings: Don't forget to reset the game, otherwise the changes don't apply, hence the "bug" named earlier. There is quite a difference between low and ultra, just try it with a reset of the game after the changes :P

QFT... Battlefield as we know it is dead. BF3 might take us a bit closer to BF2 and 2142 but the idea of large sprawling maps is gone. Even in the larger maps the cap points are close together with all this huge open space around it... rush really sucks... head on head cluster fighting is not what battlefield is about... but all my console wielding co-workers love rush over conquest as conquest takes too long and boring to keep their attention spans... also its easier for them to play together and do better... aka "synergy" since there is little chance of the bad guys flanking them. Rush is fun but for game play conquest is a better game due to a more fluid battlefield.

COD = counterstrike from 10 years ago.. nothing new other than taking $90 a year on crappy "upgrades" and "updates" just to suit the fad that COD is a good game or a new game... its not really either... not saying that someone cant have fun playing a bad game.

Battlefield is just that an entire field of battle with tanks and APC's and jets... its open and requires coordination to win... BC2 was about sitting and sniping with pistols that hit harder than assault rifles and SMG's from across the board...

I told some pages ago this is BC3, so no news about that. And Frostbite 2 is just the first version with some improvements.
It takes some elements from the latest MOH: like more deadly and less recoil weapons (with some accessories on them).
I liked the fact that knifing is much more slow now.
And yes, Battlefield as we know it is dead.
