Dear lord, things are going so bad that nowadays all we ask is to keep what we already had ten years ago

While I think that it is good that they pulled their heads out of their a**es, I can't help but hear a distant sigh. That of EA marketers realizing that they can't use the "dedicated server" point in their advertisements.

    AHahahahah!!!

They'll just dust off that creaking, rickety, old Quake engine they've been using for years, add some more Bloom and heavier Motion-Blur and DoF to obscure the low-res textures and wait for the $Billions to start rolling in.

I already pre ordered red orchestra 2 ($22 from green man gaming) key registered with steam right away, couldn't be happier.
much better than paying 3x the price for a console port

the desperate move was the announcement of MW3, we know BF3 has been in development for quite some time, when there was a 10 minute demo of BF3 they released a cod trailer that had "MW3" in green lettering and zero game play footage lol.

Would be interested in this game if it actually had DX11 and a new engine, apparently not. So, in the meantime, still not interested. After all, they are catering the console users first anyway.

Keep in mind that PC and consoles are going to use the same engine. DICE already confirmed that.
I don't think you will need an awesome computer to play this game maxed out.

look at those whoresons who develop call of duty, they ought to go plough themselves, I'd rather spend my Oren's on rotting dwarf's dung.

You are wrong. DICE said recently that the differences are map sizes and number of players. The rest is exactly the same: same lighting, same FX, same engine, same destruction.
Read this courtesy of user Philip_J_Fry:
    http://www.computerandvideogames.com...vil-or-stupid/

There is a thread on this subject:
    http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...onsole-content

This was quite obvious for everybody but the most naive fanboys. The game is thought and designed in such way that consoles can run it. The main difference is the lack of RAM, so consoles will have less players and smaller maps, but the rest will be the SAME.

You do realize that the game is DX11 and consoles are DX9? And even BF2BC was looking WAAAAY different on PC and consoles? And BF3 is new thing?

Don't worry, the game will eventually come out and we'll have time to compare how similar are PC and console versions.
BF3 graphics won't reach Crysis levels (PC exclusive) neither Metro 2033(PC version was much better than 360).
    Time will tell.

And I agree with that. My friend and I spent a whole evening comparing graphics and we found some diferences. The most shocking to me was some long range shots failing because the console would not render some polygons at a certain distance. You could see players that were behind walls and shoot them, but the bullet would hit the wall.

It is pretty sad that they have to announce it like it is a big news story. I remember when they originally called MW2 not a console port (lol) and then took away dedicated servers and a bunch of other features in favor of IWNet. I'm at least glad that they are bringing them back for the people that will be buying the game (I will not be one of them, MW2 soured my taste for the games enough as it is).
