    e7300 OC question

    Hello!

I'm thinking of purchasing a used e7300, Asus p5ql-e, 2x2gb ddr2 kingston hyperx pc800. I was told it runs 3.6ghz stable on stock voltage and Intel stock cooler.

My question to you is: Do you think it would be possible to hit 4ghz stable with upped voltage and aftermarket cooler (Scythe Ninja Plus rev2 with 2x120mm fans).

    Thanks!

The cpu is absolutely capable of 4GHz. It's just a question of voltage. The board on the other hand... not at all made for ocing, P43 chipset and all.

I was talking here about a specific cpu I've been offered to buy.
Mobo should be able to do 10x400. Most can do 420mhz as I've read... I was just wondering about this particular cpu if you think it could hit 4ghz assuming things in quotes are true (3.6ghz stable at stock 1.2V vcore and stock cooler). I wouldn't go with more than 1.4V since it's a 45nm.

I raised Vcore to 1.36V. Rest of the voltages were left at AUTO.
By leaving them on AUTO does it mean they get increased automatically by OCing the cpu or are they just left at DEFAULT?
If so, could someone pls tell me the default voltages for NB, SB, CPU PLL, FSB termination?

    ty!

most likely they will stay at default voltages
and if system is stable you'd better leave them AUTO

you can check default voltages in hardware monitor section in BIOS
    on air

    on H2O
