That would be amusing....but maybe the fbi will start arresting people left and right to "send a message" after that?

heh I hope they short circuit facebook, I'm pretty damn sick of seeing it every 5 seconds on every commercial, everything electronic is now associated with FB and being a "geek" is the new trend, screw Nark Fukernerd!

Damn right, these guys have done a lot of good so far. A day without facebook is a simple thing.

I also think they need to show V for Vendetta on all tv stations in the world that day as well.

Lets not start a war in this thread. What Anon does is a controversial matter so this thread is prone to.. controversy. Remember, opinions are opinions.

As far as my take on things.. I just hope that no one's info is at risk with whatever they do. I have family that uses FB (though I don't myself) and it would be a shame.

Raised the demand for server/network security on the background of overall falling demand in goods and services ?

I deactivated my fb anyways, might go back in future but right now I suspect, a "friend" may be trying to compromise my account. So I said F it time to deactivate for a while.
Anyways, feds? rofl, FBI are a bunch of arrogant incompetent nincompoops who can only catch script kiddies.

    Stupid.

This is just an advanced case of "Honey, I can't come to bed, someone is wrong on the internet again" combined with classic Scandinavian Jante law.

Anonymous won't be able to do it. Even if they did who cares, it's just an attempt to get people on their side again. Anon had made some pretty big enemies out of regular folks, but that's the nature of the beast with these groups. They go strong until they piss off enough people and then they go down. Not the first and not the last group to do this kind of thing.

I love this forum sometimes, 50/50 split on wanting it to happen and not caring at all. Not one FB defender here, it nearly brought tears to my eyes.

Yes I know, they release loads of data to the public that they shouldn't even be looking at while calling themselves anonymous & walking around with masks. They hide everything about themselves while not allowing anyone else to hide anything?
Also how do you know what they do with all the data they're not releasing?

I can't trust them, not possible at all.

Well seriously, this is an epic claim. And how many of "What's FB" voters dont have a FB account

They'll prolly DDoS facebook servers for the whole of 5th Nov. and everything will be back as it was on the 6th. That (or anything less) would be a big FAIL.

And I think it'll be better for anon. that way, else people will suspect G+ or M$.socl foul play and anonymous will no longer represent the people (if it does now) .
    Va fail, dh'oine.

How exactly would bringing Facebook down for an entire day be a big fail? I don't understand your logic.

Anon usually just does DDoS hits or finds a lucky SQL Inject. I am going to make a guess that the DDoS traffic they could generate would be a small fraction of Facebooks normal legitimate daily traffic. Their userbase is huge and their network is probably very distributed. Facebook is nothing like their normal targets, a huge number of servers they would have to take down to have any effect. As for SQL Inject, I would be shocked if their live version of software has anything but who knows. Unless they have managed to pull of a human engineering attack route, not sure what they can do.

Will be amusing to see either way. I would care less, I use FB once a week if I am feeling very social.

Who cares? Facebook is just another myspace. A waste of time, energy and souls of those too stupid to realize social interaction primarily happens in the real world. Sure you may find "new friends" online but failing to interact with them in the real world, means that they aren't really friends.
