Advise Re: heat spreader removal - G.SKILL F3-16000CL6T

Hey guys. Back for more advice....
I have the same RAM 12gb or very similar running on my watercooled sr2 build, the fans are doing just fine to cool them but the whole rig is w/c,
for looks more than anything as i hate the fans; i've been wanting to watercool the memory..
I imagine removal of this sort of heat spreaders is pretty standard.. but wanted to check. I've seen various guides about removing other types of heat spreaders but not these exact ones..
Guessing the heat up and ease away?

To then use 6 of the ram33 blocks.

sorry if this was pretty basic and long winded..

    Thanks in advance. J

Water cooling on RAM is really not necessary, but if you want to do it you can try to heat up the heatspreaders with a hair dryer, or put them in the freezer, as some thermal pads can easily be removed when frozen. Although I haven't owned a G.Skill DDR3 kit yet, one of these methods should work well, just be careful.

the ram 33 blocks are crap, they are sainless plated steel so they will most likely rust and air on naked ICs has always been the best way to cool ram. im guessing though that u have some 1.5-1.65V ram and those dont use much power so the stock spreaaders and a fan should be more than enough.

every gskill ram kit ive had (i have not had the new spreader style) they had thermal pads that were not stuck to the ram and had no contact so the ram overheated.
