The story is that Foxconn are investing in new factories with modern production instead of the simple solution of closing down the factories and moving them to a country with cheaper labor.

I always see the newspaper article about how cheap labor is in China and how someone who has worked 90hrs only earns $200/month after tax, accomodation and social security has been deducted! I started my working life like this on the bottom run of the ladder! I find people today want to walk out of college into $75K jobs without proving themselves.

$200/month, this is for someone with little education and their first job, for example my maid earns $300/month. These jobs exsisted in the west until very recently and what people fail to remember is, no one stays in a $hit low paid job for ever. After a couple of years or so the person goes and finds themself a better job, or gets a promotion. They now have work experience and a proven employment history for putting on a CV.

For ever 1 person in China earning $200/month there is someone earning $20,000/month. There are 300,000,000 people working in China and they all want the same living standards as those in the West. As the Chinese become richer those in the West will have to become poor as a result, only so much cake in the world.

I wonder which contry those 1000,000 robots will be built?

Well, if you ask me China is probably the most capitalistic country in the world. The lifes of the people and the environment do not matter, if it helps China to increase it's wealth and power. Maybe it'll change someday, though I doubt it will be anytime soon.

Probably Japanese or German Never heard of a bigger Chinese robotics company. But maybe you never heard of KUKA as well.
Notice any grammar or spelling mistakes? Feel free to correct me! Thanks

I think its great that China is doing its best to properly invest its money. But $75K out of school with a BS is the average for top Tech schools in this country, even to this day and those guys find jobs, they actually have their job offers before they graduate. If you read around Tech jobs in science in America are not hard to find, we are so low in tech graduates that we actually have to import them.

I read an interesting statistic, there are 800,000 jobs in the US all Tech/Sci and only 200,000 qualified applicants, you do the math. the issue is people wanting jobs they aren't properly educated for or experienced in.

This is commonplace in the tech industry in America. People regularly make ~65k with a bachelor's, ~85k with a masters, and 100k+ with a PhD.

what people fail to remember is, no one stays in a $hit low paid job for ever. After a couple of years or so the person goes and finds themself a better job, or gets a promotion. They now have work experience and a proven employment history for putting on a CV.
This is also incorrect. There are a lot more low paid jobs than high paid jobs, so many of the workers are in it for life.

For ever 1 person in China earning $200/month there is someone earning $20,000/month.
lol, do you really believe this?

There socialistic, but that doesn't mean free markets. When it comes to business everything is allowed. Problem is often the involvement of other companies in other countries. Foxconn is probably battling to continue getting orders from the American capitalist sharks who want cheap prices.

The same thing happens everywhere. GM car factories where shut down in the US leaving whole cities without jobs. Those jobs went to other countries with cheaper labor.

I can't say much negative things about China. They work hard for their money. Their economy tripled in the last 10 years and will do so again in the next 10 years. But still they are poor, so I can't blame them for high CO2 and other environmental problems. They have one mission, and that is not being poor.

Some economic analyses show China will be richer than America by 2027 (GDP).

    So true.
When you have nothing left, there's nothing to lose either. Why not work an extra hour to earn extra dough?
