Question Single GPU to benefit from PCIe 3.0 ?

    Hi all,

will the next generation of graphics cards, such as nVidia's Kepler (GTX 780), as a single GPU, benefit from the extra bandwidth of PCIe 3.0 over 2.0?

If not, how many generations away, would you say we are to have PCIe 2.0 bottlenecking a single GPU solution?

    Intel BadAxe2
    Tuniq 120 Tower
    G.Skill HZ 4x1GB
BFG 7900 GS OC (558/675) now MSI HD 7770
    WD Raptor 150GB (Primary)
    2 x Seagate 320Gb 7200.10 (Storage; No RAID)
    Corsair 620Watt
    Samsung SH-W183 SATA drive
    AuzenTech X-Meridian
    Antec A900 Case

I have a Tuniq 120 Tower in my new pc. The size, in relation to others on the market, is directly proportional to the size of my penis. Therefore it is large.

I don't think GTX 780 will, but whatever comes after (Maxwell) very well might.
But that's just speculation on my part.

and when that time comes, presumably a current i5 SB/IB or i7 SB/IB, even overclocked to 4.5ghz+, will be a bottleneck? (i mainly game at 1680x1050)

At that resolution - yeah, very likely.
