Question P67 FTW, good for OCed 2600K ?

Im reducing my rig since im not anymore gaming enough for the stuff i have. Im still an hardware junky and i luike to bench sometime so i dont want to go too low on my next rig. Heres the plan.

    Intel Core i7 2600K
    EVGA P67 FTW ATX P67 LGA1155
    Corsair CMZ8GX3M2A1866C9 Vengeance 8GB 2X4GB
    Zalman CNPS10X Extreme
ASUS GeForce 570 GTX DirectCU II
    X25-M OS ***
    Agility2 240gb games ***
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB stockage
    TPQ-1200-OC ***
    Corsair Obsidian Series 650D
    LG GH24LS70 24X
    Windows 7 Pro x64 ***
    ASUS VE278Q 27IN
BenQ G24hd as second screen ***

*** = from my current rig

My main headache have been about the motherboard ... Z68 or P67. I dont really ned anything from Z68 and the P67 FTW seems a good option if i want to bench anyday. + my PSU have enough connection to fill both CPU 8 pins.

Is the P67 FTW a good motherboard or ima better with a P6Z68 Deluxe or similar. ( alwais liked asus )

    Thanks for answering !

Well, thanks for your answer. My mind didnt changed yet, the P67 FTW stills seems to be my best choice as for now.

Im ordering in 1-2 weeks. I still have time to read some more reviews.

Somebody from a romanian forum had tested Evga P67 the cheaper model, and it said that, that board is on the cpu(frecuency, power delivered) may be even better than Asus MIVE- mb that it has too.
The board boot at 5.7ghz from the first try, thing not so easy on MIVE- same cpu used.
The only negative things are as usually- not good compatibilty with Hypers, and may be lower memory frecuencys.
    See here: http://forum.lab501.ro/showthread.php?t=4905
So i think that Evga P67 FTW which is even better will may be do even better.

I too have been lusting over p67 ftw, too bad that I cannot find one in stock (Europe). And I have no idea how long it will be till I could get my hands on one of those. I could easily wait if I could get some estimate on when it would be shipping to me. I like the black&red color scheme too. Do I have any other options on good clocker on this price range except gene-z, as I don't wan't to go mATX as I have fairly big case (TJ07)?

I'm sure, but I meant the EVGA. Had an MIVE when they first came out. Killed it and got a UD7. Been eyeing up the genie though.

It's been good to me so I can't complain. Could use some work in the bios department. You know. You've been there.

I was coming from a EVGA E760 classy, and was a rock solid board, but when I started reading about P67 FTW on EVGA forums, there were so much problems (most of all bios), so I decided to go for MIVE. I hope EVGA problems gets fixed, I thing EVGA is one of the best HW brands, and thier forums are great. Cheers.

This is just air, it's got alot more, and if you ues PCIex slots 3 and 6 you can get 16x x 2 off the NF200. But I tested and found better performance off slots 1 and 6 which run 8x PCIex 1 and 16x PCIex 6.
It's and awsome board for the price for sure.....

    Peace, Nugz

    UD7 is an excellent board.

I like the FTW though, it looks pretty cool. There just isn't too many users with it, since it was just released.

The M4E is an excellent board too.

If you wanna compare prices you can get the P67A-UD7-B3 for $280 after rebate from $300 i think on newegg, that is a steal. As Zsamz said his gene-z is also cheaper.

If you don't need anything Z68 offers I would suggest the Asrock P67 Extreme4. I work very closely with Asrock bug testing and ensuring every possible UEFI bug gets ironed out so can wholeheartedly say the Extreme4 is a very solid, very reliable board Also, if you don't intend to go more than SLi that 1200w PSU is massive overkill, something like the 850w Corsair HX will be plenty for a SLi rig with heafty OCs. Personally, I wouldn't bother with SSDs either. Their price>gigabyte ratio is horrible, but to each their own. If you absolutely have to have SSD drives, I would strongly recommend the Crucial C300.

Unless you plan on doing tri-SLI I would avoid NF200 totally. For dual it does more hard than good.

Thanks for comment about the board.

For the rest, you ever read my rig listing correctly ? i already have my SSD and PSU from my current rig and ill NEVER EVER go back to HDD for an OS. As for the 240gb ... had a good deal on it and my games and apps are all blazing fast.

    @Eldonko
I already know about this. The R3F that i have currently dont have any NF200 but with X58 its all good without since you have more PCIe lane. As for now i dont plan to have more than one GPU. Maybe a second GTX570 anyday. My main goal is to reduce my current rig and still be able to play with it if i want ( by playing i mean OCing, benching ).

agreed other than for long term storage, the difference is real.

OP So you are upgrading from X58 to P67?
