[BenchBros] Can't touch this... MSI Lightning!!!

    Hey guys,

this weekend we had a Session with the best Overclockers and friends from our Team.

On our last session together with SuicidePhoenix we had a "death" golden MSI Lightning at the End, the GPU got artifacts even without OC or LN2.
So we decided to bring it to a company what does Prototype soldering for loopy's work. And theese guys were so kind and have done their best to fix our card.
After one Week in a Temper-Oven (120°) and after some Hand heating up of the GPU the card works fine again!

Great for us, bad for competitor's

Some more information about the Setup's used:

    Vantage:
    Intel 990X B1 ES
    GIGABYTE X58A-UD9 (still our Favorite!)

    3DMark11 and Heaven:
    Intel i7-2600K
ASUS Maximus 4 Extreme P67 lend from SuicidePhoenix coz our new one not arrived in time

    the rest:

MSI N580GTX Lightning with OCP Mod
    Corsair DOMINATOR-GTX2
    Corsair AX1200W PSU
    Corsair R120 GB SSD
    LeChuck's Benchtable
    (http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/...uck-Benchtable)

    the cooling:

Otterauge Extreme Edition Pot for 990X
Ryba's Fat pot for MSI Lightning
Watercooling by Aquacomputer Kyros for 2600K (chilled water)

the Scores in order of hwbot placing:

    3DMark11 12177 Points... WR!

    Unigine Heaven Xtreme DX11 2563 Points... 2nd

3DMark Vantage P45830... 3rd BUT Single CPU WR
    CPU at 6270 in Game-Tests

3 times highest GPU Clock ever (public) in this Benches

    the Voltages & Temperatures:

vGPU: +600mV (means arround 1.63V under heavy load) thats a lot, but if it scales, it scales
    vMem: +220mV (1.85V)
    vPLL: +70mV

GPU is no more CB Free (and of course it was before we did the resoldering) -160° gives us Freezes so we need to hold the card between -155° (for decent Clocks) and -159° for prevent CB.
This wasn't easy all the time, even the Behavior of the card changes from Day 1 to Day 2, strange!...

Even 3DMark11 is hard to handle coz the load drops between the Game-Tests are somethimes so heavy that u are running into CB while loading. Damn!

    the Mood:

was perfect and we all realy had a great and succesful weekend, there is nothing else to say then thanks to everyone who was involved!
Lots of fun and we need to meet again soon!

    Thanks to:

Intel for sending us 3 990X to select

MSI for a long time of support

ASUS for M4E and a package what unfortunatly not arrived in time

CORSAIR for a long time of support but now noone is feeling responsible for us

    Some Pic's of the weekend:
