Also don't get that sunbeam Core-Contact freezer. Corsair A50 will be good enough and is cheaper: http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Air-Pe...0754078&sr=8-1. Make sure to select Amazon as seller so you can get $15 rebate. And I agree with CharMz. The Antec Neo 620c isn't worth $70 (even though I have one). And get an SSD + Samsung F3 1TB HDD. Cheaper combo and just as fast.

show me a ssd that is $199 with 450gb and im sure we will all gladly pic up a few of them.

ssd's also have a huge failure rate.

antec makes good psu's but i do prefer corsair and seasonic.......

if 128gb is too small, then an SSD might not be worth it. but for me its good enough to hold my OS, all apps, and 4-6 games with room to spare.
the c300 has great perf and reliability

for PSUs, theres a 400w gold rated on newegg for 72$, i forget the brand but it looks solid with the 5 year warranty being gold rated

for the ram, 1600mhz is an overclock but its like running 400mhz ddr back in the day, jdec only goes to 1333 so anything higher is an oc (but that will not void a warranty)

ssds do not have huge failure rates, they have huge user error rates, if u get a non 1st batch u should be fine, there should also be no need to have more than 120GB of fast storage unless u are using it as a work station and then u are better off with a pair of 1TB 7200 rpm with 500GB platters and making raid partitions. im using an 80GB g2 ssd and a 2TB f4eg for bulk storage and its working great.

on the psu, antec makes a good psu line (the signature) the rest are mid tier at best, your better off with a corsair or ocz modxstream, here are 3 better options in the same price range

what is your goal with the system, and u would be better off going with a 2500k, that would be at the same price point you are looking at.

My HTPC with an old Vertex 2 SSD feels twice as fast as my main system running off a 300gig VelociRaptor, even though CPU and memory can't compare. I wouldn't use anything but a SSD if I had the option.

I understand the space difference between the raptor and the SSD..but the speed is a big difference

get a 120GB OCZ SSD drive to hold your OS, programs and 5 games, it will fit...

then get a 500GB or 1TB drive to hold movies..music..ect

were did u get that they increase boot time, the windows load time is nothing on my system. the only thing that i could think of is if u change to achi or raid the bios might take longer.

+1 for all the sad suggestions. Raptors are overrated and way underperform an ssd. I would suggest an 80 or 120 gig system ssd drive then two 1 gig mechanicals in raid 0 for game installs and I'd you have the money another two 1 gig mechanicals in raid 1 for important stuff.

Also ditch the 890 chipset and focus in on the 990 am3+ to get some future upgradeabiliy.

    Those ar my suggestions.

I am confused, are you arguing that an SSD will not increase boot times? Cause mine loads tons faster then any HDD setup

You will not fail with the access times of an SSD. The Velociraptors are nice and even nicer when in a RAID0 array. But still even in RAID0, 2 Velociraptors will not touch 1 SATA3 SSD.

    My 74GB Velociraptors in RAID0:
    Attachment 117717

My OCZ Agility 3 60GB as Boot:
    Attachment 117718

    Access times:
    Attachment 117719

And 2 Velociraptors will NOT get this for you either! Also my Boot times went from 33 seconds to 12 seconds! So, YES an SSD DOES decrease your boot times......

This is ludicrous. Unless you have a pretty slick raid setup with spindle disks, a single SSD will boot faster. Do you mean to say that an SSD improves your boot times?

Yes I think some of you guys need think about what your typing.

A SSD does NOT increase boot times. It decreases boot times

Decrease = Smaller as in 12 seconds to boot
Increase = Larger as in 33 seconds to boot

LOL! You're right! It does decrease boot times. Didn't even think about it that way. Post above has been edited....
