    Why is there no MSI Z68 thread?

    I was thinking about getting a GD65. It seems like almost everyone prefers Asus/ASRock/Gigabyte over MSI. Are there any particular reasons?

    Dunno I find the P67 Marshal a pretty solid board
    Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

    i was looking at reviews at the new Z68A-GD80 and its getting good reviews all over...a bit strange that no thread here on XS

The charge required to fully charge the gate grows with the voltage; charge times frequency is current. Voltage times current is power. So, as you raise the voltage, the current consumption grows linearly, and the power consumption quadratically, at a fixed frequency. Once you reach the frequency limit of the chip without raising the voltage, further frequency increases are normally proportional to voltage. In other words, once you have to start raising the voltage, power consumption tends to rise with the cube of frequency."

    I think the main reason, particularly for the Asrock boards, is simply much better support with frequent UEFI updates.

    I don't work for gigabyte, but i make the mega thread every now and then. You can do the same if you think you can pull it off.
