    AMD FX-8150 @ +7900 MHz # TeamPCLab.pl and guests

    Hello!

Yesterday some guests joined us for a benching session with AMD latest and... well, latest CPU.

time and place: saturday afternoon, PCLab lab
    Personae:
    Yotomeczek - RC TweakIT
Kamil Grzbiecik - F7 and flash drives
    G.Foyle - bios and pot
XtremeAddict - he was forbidden to use "Extreme Overvoltage" so he chose to just watch

    Rig:
    FX-8150 press sample
ASUS Crosshair V Formula bios 9911
    Radeon HD 6970
    GoodRAM PRO 2000 CL7
    Enermax Revo85+ 850 W

We put all our efforts into max validation of course, and this is the result:

    This flashed for a moment:

Crosshair V Formula did well, although it sometimes had problems booting below -80°C (coldboot on AMD? come on...). Core 3 (or first core of second module) was significantly better - other cores wouldn't even do 7500. Cores 1 and 3 were turned on for this validation, core 1 was set to x24 multi and core 3 to x30,5.

We won't settle for anything other than the big eight, so another sessions with another CPU are coming

Go for it, any word on % performance differences between 9905 and 9911 ?
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

    Thanks guys!
I didn't notice any performance difference, but I didn't do any special testing.

Flanker - yes, it did ~4800 stable on air with 1,475 V. Max spi 1m on air was around 5100.

    Hi G.Foyle,

just read your report and I am really curious how you could change the multiplier just for one core (or module). I just tried a few tools but had no luck yet.

    K10Stat

Does not work at all (for now).

    AMD OverDrive

Can read the multis correctly and seems to be able to set them independently. But "apply" does not work and max multiplier seems to be 21x?!

    ASUS TurboV

Comes with the whole nasty AI Suite II but at least works well. Only thing is that you can't set the multi independently for each core/module, just all at once.

I would be thankful for any hint.

You can only set the multiplier per compute unit, not per core.
Dunno if the public version of AOD even works thou.

The public version of AOD should work, but it actually does not with the Crosshair V Formular (0813 or 9911, no difference). But anyhow it limits at 21x ...

Btw, SF3D seems to have a neat tool for Bulldozer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...kkCV_Pg#t=285s
Does anyone know what that is?

AMD PSCheck, a tool for "internal" use.

If the public version of AOD works with BD on any board, it will work on Crosshair too.
The registers which control the multiplier have nothing to do with the board used.
