    Tom's does do a good job with SSD reviews these days. Except with their 4KB QD1 tests, where they get 100+ MB/s reads for random 4KB. Obviously it is not really QD1. I think what they are doing is setting IOmeter for QD1 but with 8 or 16 workers, with the net result being that all those parallel accesses queue up and result in QD>1, which is not very realistic/common for most desktop usage.

    And yet, the comments suggest that more than a few people think he (Anand) is biased towards Intel SSDs. To be fair, a number of his reviews end with "you should probably just buy the Intel SSD”. Its not like that's always been bad advice, but increasingly less relevant.

    Anands refusal to post 4k QD1 numbers is the primary reason many question his methods. Also, using traces that can be easily tweaked either way.
    It was not until about two months ago that Anand came out and said something negative about SandForce, but of course by then it was overwhelming in forums and user reports worldwide that there is/was a serious issue there. But that had already been going on for an extended period of time before he commented on it.

    Crucial are dominating sales. It looks like the Intel 320 and OCZ in general have been punished for reliability issues (both are now out of the top 10). Intel’s 510 and Corsair seem to have benefited.

    It seems like every 240GB SF drive has had a t least a $50 price drop on Amazon. I wonder if they are just price matching their competition or if newer stuff is coming

    OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 Review Update
    Over the summer we reviewed a pre-production version of the 480GB OCZ RevoDrive 3 X2 SSD. Even though the hardware and firmware were not final builds, the RevoDrive 3 X2 was still incredibly impressive, given the speedy PCIe interface and four SandForce SF-2281 processors. We've finally been able to log enough time with the production version of the RevoDrive 3 X2 and our excitement over the platform has done nothing but grow. In fact, the performance of the card rose so signficantly that we had to adjust the scale of our benchmark charts to compensate.
