    Core i7 920 Overclocking

Right now, i have two 6950 flashed to 6970. Currently, Im using a core i7 920 @ 3.0Ghz with an EVGA 3x SLI mobo. Do you think my cpu is bottle necking my video cards? Will I see greater performance gains if I OC my cpu? Thanks

I'm using tapatalk right now so I don't have a full browser handy, google miahallen 3-step i7 overclock guide. His guide is fantastic (and linked here) and will definitely give you a solid OC in relatively little time.

Here is the link you need to get you going. But i would say 3.8Ghz - 4ghz should be a great overclock. and pretty easy on the i7 920.

After a few days of testing, I achieved my finally settings. All voltages have been lowered as much as possible to minimize heat and preserve the longevity of the chip.

    Core i7 920 @ 4.0Ghz
    CPU VCORE: 1.30V
    VTT Voltage: 1.250mV (+150mV)

Here is a print screen of my final settings:

    Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (Coolermaster Hyper 212)
    EVGA X58 3-SLI (132-BL-E758-A1)
    Corsair XMS3 Dominator 6GB (8-8-8-24)
    Corsair 850HX
    Diamond HD 6970 2GB
