Such a story... That's sadly what most high end and very implied overclocker feel in the end...

you'll always be welcome to stop by and say hi or visit a for a fews days ... This seems hard at one point to look back and say "What I've done all that..." but in the end despite the down side you could never regret what you did... the community appreciated it...

Wishing you luck for your future and family !

So sad to hear but my man Trouffman is right, nothing to regret about all those long hours spent to work hard for the buisness.
But sometimes people need to kick out hard in the hive to make their voice heard...
You can be proud, you deserve it.

While we never talked personally I always enjoyed your posts and took advantage of a lot of the wisdom you posted for others. Take care, poke your head in these parts even just to distribute random knowledge, it was always useful. And most importantly live and enjoy your life, you only get to do so once

A shame to see you go. Is there no middle ground, where you check forums once in a while instead of a full stop? Or is that just impossible for you?

Sad to see you leave chew. But honestly you needs a break. Too much of one thing is bad for anyone. Get some r&r and enjoy the finer things in life. Hope to see you later down the road, take care and enjoy life.

In my opinion the biggest profile and most helpful person in the overclocking community gone... Never had any one on one talks with you except in a few PM's.

Job (really economy, money talks...) and family always comes first nomatter what. Hope you come back to be an active overclocker once again and that some company realizes your talent and dedication. When I see you it's incredible how some other people got a job and not you through all of this...

I will miss your brutal approach to the hobby, both in your overclocking as well as your brutally honest approach at delivering information.

I hope you'll still be on MSN and available for a phone call every now and then. We had some good times under LN2 in the lab.

Take care of the family, and keep your eyes and ears open. If there isn't a manufacturer out there in the market for someone like you, then I don't know what to think of this industry anymore.

Btw, remember that first AMD Phenom II event in Boston was where we met each other Brian. That was a blast, and neither of us knew where we'd be today. We've both come a long way, on different paths.

    Chew

While I admit i don't understand a lot of what goes on in the OC world (you guys are way smarter than I can ever dream of being) I will say I am going to miss Chew (read his retirement on HWBOT site). The guy really was a good ambassador for the hardcore OC world to the world of newbs (my world). I understand his disappointment with putting in tons of time as an enthusiast with vendors and not getting where you want to be (I had hoped to get a job in the industry myself but alas I am not what they wanted or needed at the time either). You put in SO much time being away from your family and spending your money that you have to cut off the loses at some point. Anyways, Chew thanks for being a friend and decent person - and having a level of class I can only aspire to.

Hope everything goes well for you bud.

Aww what, where is the link to the retirement post?

Sad to see him go, I've never met him but I always look forward to seeing his benching session results, pictures, etc. That's a shame the flow wasn't equal between him and the companies.

This sounds like a lost opportunity for many companies to snap you up.

I hope you find work that you are passionate about, that rewards your efforts well, and leaves time for life and family.

    You will be missed.

Sorry for such a delayed response.
Me posting a reply here is like a commoner passing a comment amongst Knights- But please pardon as i have been unable to hold back my emotions.

    Dear Chew sir,
Many have followed your every word when it came to AMD OCing- BIOS settings or picking the right memory, etc.
Your "vacation" from OCing will affect many of your fans and other beneficiaries.

I won't say i understand the emotions you go through as you take this tough decision to "take a break" cause only someone with your level of passion, dedication, skill, talent will understand that honestly.

I hope you come back to OCing, soon.

All the best for everything you do. Take care.

P.S. n00bs like me wonder who can get hired if people like you can't be.

I just stumbled across this thread...that's what you get for not visiting the forum that often anymore i guess.

Brain, like all good things in life, everything comes to an end. Sorry for you it's a bit of a bitter end for you though.

Your posts were always inspiring and helpfull, i recall our little Asus TweakIt vs MSI OC Knob battle, it was great fun, remember?

Thanks for all you've done for the community and enjoy what is of real importance to you at this moment.
