    Overclockers,

Now in its third year, Lords of Overclocking has become our largest and most fiercely fought overclocking contest. This year we are again partnering with MSI to offer winners a trip for two to compete in MSI's Master Overclocking Arena competition in Taipei. The press release:
Get Ready for the Futuremark Lords of Overclocking 2011 Contest

Winners to Qualify for MSI MOA Grand Final in Taipei

HELSINKI, FINLAND – JUNE 28, 2011 – Futuremark® today announced the return of its annual Lords of Overclocking competition for PC users everywhere. This year’s event, the largest of its type, will see overclocking pros, enthusiasts and hobbyists from Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas use 3DMark® 11 and MSI brand graphics cards to compete for the title of "Lord of Overclocking" for their region. http://www.futuremark.com/lords

The top contestants from each region will win a grand prize trip for two with travel and hotel included to compete in the MSI Master Overclocking Arena (MOA) 2011 grand final in Taipei. The complete prize pool includes the latest and most desirable graphics cards, motherboards, cases, memory, coolers and power supplies from competition sponsors MSI, Huntkey, Kingston and Enermax.

The Lords of Overclocking contest will run for four weeks from July 4 to August 1 with prizes awarded to the top weekly winners in each region. Additional winners will be picked at random from all qualifying entries each week, ensuring everyone has a chance to win.

"We are excited to once again bring the world’s most talented overclockers together for our annual Lords of Overclocking competition," said Jukka Mäkinen, Futuremark CEO. "With great prizes on offer from some of the most recognized names in PC performance it promises to be a closely fought contest."

"This is the third year MSI has partnered with Futuremark to promote Lords of Overclocking as the premier online qualifying event for MOA," said Jason Lee, Marketing Director at MSI. "Lords of Overclocking gives enthusiasts and overclockers around the world an opportunity to experience the performance, stability and quality of the military grade hardware in MSI mainboards and graphics cards in an exciting competitive setting."

Many of us would like to see Mikeguava as a judge for MOA 2011 finals, he did a great job in USA.

MSI, please consider Mike as a judge along with Georgio.

    Ok,

    few questions:

MSI brand only (VGA, single GPU so I guess 580 GTX is the way to go). How it will be recognize that it is MSI VGA? For instance I have MSI GTX 580 reference with Coldslow bios brand Asus, do I have to find coldslow bios with MSI brand or brand on GPU-Z doesn't count? Another question, how to recognize MSI reference card through other reference cards? flashing bios is not a problem I think. Is there picture required? But how to recognize reference 580 with pot on it? Is there required some picture with name and SN of card?

    Miravo, this is a problem.

I feel that manufactures should put protection in so that bios swaps would show real MFG and bios MFG, maybe Wizard has some ideas on card identification and tricking the verification. I bet the Palit contest will have MSI and Asus cards that have been bios flashed.

What Palit contest? Have you got some link?

And what about problem of reference MSI card with cold slow bios from Asus? I guess the only criteria will be manufacture showed in futuremark hardwareinfo?

And what about people who are actually in MOA? Because I don't see any restriction preventing them from taking part in this contest, so what happens with Grand Prize (MOA Final) if someone who is qualified to go to Taipei win also Lords of Overclocking?

Good luck to everyone entering. This contest is gonna be real intense for sure. We'll probably see a handful of 1500+ submissions.

Mike's understanding of competitive overclocking is completely unmatched. He'd definitely be a top-class choice for judging the finals.

That contest you have to show an image of the system and a image of the cards SN so Palit can verify its a legit card.

Also Mike should judge the finals.

Girogioprimo did great last year, maybe just add mike and make 2 judges? I mean there are so many teams it would make sense to have more than 1 imo.

    And good luck guys!

Giorgio has been leading the MSI MOA competitions perfectly since two years now. There's absolutely no reason to change the judge.

T_M did a good job in the APAC too. Adding him and Mike as additional judges makes sense, I guess. But, to be honest, there's no need for 'extra' judges apart from the pleasure of seeing more overclockers attend the final. There hasn't been any situation where the Grand Judge was unable to make the right decisions.

    @saint19

you and your teammate, get the best score and submit, if you win, you'll bring whoever you want.

only 2 guys per region can go.

Maybe they scored high in the 1st week to get the HD 6950, as it was the most 'appealing' weekly prize to get
