    Reject rates

I want to find out which combination of mining software, pool or even flags result in the lowest possible reject rates (also: what are normal rejects rates). Or in what magnitude overclock plays a role, so if you guys and gals would report your findings here it would be nice.

I'll start. I'm currently on bitcoins.lc and run phoenix with VECTORS AGGRESSION=11 WORKSIZE=128 BFI_INT FASTLOOP=false. I'm only at a slight overclock to 900MHz on Cayman cores and my reject rate in consistently at around 1.8%.

From what I gather, phoenix usually gets more stales than poclbm. My current share to stale on 5870's using poclbm -v -w256 is 12000 to 22.

.18%... that's nothing compared to my numbers. I think I should try poclbm.

Edit: Okay, I'm trying it right now. 11MHashes less than phoenix. And it displays only the hash rate. Where do you get your acc/rej count from?

poclbm, all rigs crunching WCG on the side, Win 7 x64, mostly 5870s (all running about 900mhz ea, memory underclocked as much as possible) -v -w128

    Deepbit: 319146 to 2617 = .82%
    BTCGuild: 807210 to 7801 = .97%

I tried boincoins.lc, but I couldn't stay on it for long. The site layout is weird, you can't even name your miners, and the downtime was pretty significant (at least for me.)

Currently, I'm very satisfied with BTCGuild.

I'm using GUIminer, as per my tutorial
Here's a current shot, "akzeptiert" means the share went through, "abgelehnt" means stale.

I think one of the issues may be the servers at bitcoin.lc ...my failure rate jumped when I moved over but not for the first few days there.

Also.... over the weekend I had Internet issues (drop outs etc. till it failed completely) This made my numbers go nuts too.

I am at 58980 1303 (2.2%) They are Still playing with the servers.

Problem is that my miner runs linux with phoenix/poclbm on the shell. Poclbm only shows mhash rating, nothing else... no counting of accepted and rejected shares. Phoenix was showing a bit more info.

Your pool should tell you your share/stale statistics... and if it doesn't... get a better pool!!

Well I was at bitcoins.lc and they are not really displaying any useful info. They had a downtime today again so I switched back to btcmine and it looks like my reject rate dropped off. I'll monitor it for some days...

...why would you use polcbm when you already use that kernel in phoenix?
    I'm at 676 / 22 in phoenix.

Anyone reading efficiency in their pool: that is totally different than rejects in your miner. I get about 86% efficiency, up to 101% at one point in my pool.

Because client type seems to have an impact on reject rates, this also applies for different versions of phoenix. (version 1.48 --> 1.5)
    I didn't change yet though. I like my 400MHash with BFI_INT..
