its all right there in black and white...not what u think is right or wrong and skepticism from u is like breathing if its not in concurrence to ur belief. that link is real time gaming stats and has every main stream game thats played today. so that being said any info u just "spelled" out is nothing more than what u have already stated....u just will never admit ur wrong about anything..accountability is a terrible thing isnt it

The guy who started this thread said he liked to benchmark and OC. The 480 scores higher in the benchmarks worth points, its worth a lot more points, and its cheaper making it the best choice for him.

I would still pick the 480 over the 570 despite what the reviews show, clock for clock it should be faster.

get a vanila EVGA GTX580 (most are vid 1.013) and u will have a beast for all your needs, better VRM's, less heat even less than 570, and powerful 950+ core, i had the chance to test like 6 and all did 950, my bests do 981/2300 at 1,175

480 old card agree with all, its hot and eats a lot of power

570 very good card 950 core also but i weak VRM

go for 580 best choice !

    Actually I did.

In my post I said "benchmarks worth points" and "its worth a lot more points". If you go to HWBOT.org (the world record data base) and look at all results posted with both cards you will see that the 480's scores are higher in all benchmarks that are used for points, and that it is worth more points. For a bencher, normally that is what matters.

Sounds to me like you have a 570 and feel the need to defend your choice because some people dont agree that its the better card of the two choices given. Honestly who really cares, they are a very close match.

well u guys arguing and the guy doesnt even show up i PM'd him also with no reply

whatever the choice is good for him its ok its his money

580 > 570 > 480 thats the way it is, of course i saw lots of good results on 480's but where on supertweaked and super lite installs of XP32 and VISTA32 just do the same on 570 and u will see who wins...thats easy to test

and yes you have there the same relation on heat 580 is cooler than 570 and cooler than 480

    cheers

GTX480 stock cooling, 3DM06, CPU on water. Still testing, will run vantage and 3d11 when I get time. Still learning this CPU, just got it today.

My score is FAR from the top gtx480-3dm06 score (34th) at hwbot .

Second screen below is a list of the current WR rankings for 1x gtx570.

One gtx570 scored higher than the run I did today, both GPU and CPU were on LN2, and both clocked higher. If you visit the website, you can view all the scores posted using both cards. And you will see which card scored higher in the benchmarks listed, starting with 3dm01 and ending with 3dm11 and Unigine Heaven.

Score from a run I did earlier today.

Sorry for the bad pic. Here is the link.

Right, this should unquestionably put the debate to rest about which is better, the GTX480 or GTX570. I went and done a search on HWbot for the top ranked GTX480 and GTX570 in Unigine Heaven, Extreme preset. For those that don't know, Unigine Heaven is a pure measure of GPU horsepower, nothing else.

..also it doesnt list the hardware in any of the pc's, youre grasping at straws..i suggest sticking to bios settings and trouble resolutions which u seem to be so good at.

btw...sniperoz only beat him by 200 points and has 4 x sli compared to 3 x
that research only took me 30 seconds to determine after i looked at the clock speeds of both cards, i knew something wasnt right.

Ran 06 with some of the more recent cards I have. Only card I dont have to test is a 570, so I cant really say how it would do on the same system. I imagine it would be up there close to the 480 and 580 scores. Mainly in Canyon Flight, but also a Fire Fly Forest and Deep Freeze you will notice a difference in FPS with cards with less memory, so I would guess that is where the 570 would fall a little short of the 580/480.

Took a screen of the best result I was able to get with each card. Price/performance the 470 is also a good value.

I tried different CPU and memory frequency to try and get 560 score up a little but it was about the same as when running at 56x100, but this was the best score I got.

Looks like all the higher end single GPU cards from NVidia are pretty close.

3d mark 06 is cpu reliant...that 5.6 ghz u have is the main reason u score like u do. what main board u have? if its the asrock extreme 4 im interested in ur bios settings...thats a great oc u got going bro.

    then compare to zuendelholz, 3x 480's. Only problem is he's using a 980x @ 4.4ghz which is quite a bit slower than miahallen's 2600k @ 5.1ghz or sniperoz's 980x @ 5.2

You can blame the search engine on HWbot then, I used the advanced feature and specified everything only changing the search criteria for the specific graphics card. Eitherway, a search on HWbot still says you are wrong, the GTX570 isn't as fast as the GTX480 when looking through benchmarks that primarily just take into account the GPU and not the entire system (such is the case with Heaven).

How many times do people have to point out the obvious to you? You really do look like somebody who has a GTX570 and feels the need to defend it..

ED - Manual search this time. Same as before Heaven DX11 Extreme preset. 1x GTX480 vs. 1x GTX570. Again, like I've been saying all along as have others, clock for clock the GTX480 is faster. Think about that combined with the GTX480 having more vRAM and being cheaper and the outcome is still the same, GTX480 = better choice.

blame the hwbot search? lmfao...blame anyone but urself correct? i would hate to work with you or even be around you...i have no respect for people who do not have any accountability. as far as the rest of ur post...its all bs. you actually proved urself wrong by posting what you "researched" then u blame hwbot for ur inacurate statements? 4X SLI COMPARED TO 3X SLI AND ONLY 200 POINTS SEPERATED THE 2.....YOU USED THAT AS A REFERENCE! YOU SAID AND I QUOTE "THIS SHOULD UNQUESTIONABLY PUT THE DEBATE TO REST" now u find out the absolute truth and you still think you are right?! then u start attacking me saying i am only defending the 570? im stating the facts and not only did i prove you wrong but u also shot urself in the foot...time for u to bow out of this one
