    2600k survives 2 volts!!!

I was tweaking voltages trying to get 5ghz stable and had llc set to ultra and set the offest voltage to .600 instead of .060 and once system booted huge red warnings with constant beeping,I was like wtf and once in bios I saw cpu temp 98c and I pulled the plug.

Once back in the bios I saw the offset voltage set to the highest the board will go.600 with the llc set to ultra. It probably got over 2 volts since I didnt really look while I pulled the plug but so far so good the chip is doing 4.7 ghz now and everything seems good so far.

Haha, sorry not doing that again lol. The sad part is I was trying to not give this chip more than 1.4 volts to see if it would degrade or not.I dont know why the board can go so high for voltages.Im still in a daze over this and I keep seeing the cpu in the red saying 98c warning etc when I go in the bios.

It's always worth airing n the side of caution with these CPUs, generally I don't go over around 1.33v although recently I have been pushing 1.42v to see how high I can get my 2500k now I've made some customised changes. So far, 5GHz seems good.

Haha its actually running fine and stable like before.

Does anyone want to donate a chip that they dont want so I can see how much actuall voltage it got.

Does anyone know whats the highest voltage a asus p67pro will put out?

I have LLC set to ultra extreme and set the offset to .600 witch is the maximum the board can suply to the cpu.

again I ment to use .060 and going to .085 is over 1.5 volts lol
