    Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB SSD

    Hey everybody,

My OS HDD is starting to act weird so figured I would start looking into replacing it with an SSD. I saw Newegg is having this SSD on sale for 90 bucks as their shell shocker deal in the mid day and was wondering if anyone can tell me if its a good drive or not? It is a SATAIII and I am still on II, but plan on upgrading in the near future.

    Thanks
    Stu

The Crucial M4 is a bit cheaper and will replace the C300. The C300 is a great drive though. Both are winners.

yeah man that is a great drive, for a great price. the C300 is just solid as a rock, and very fast.

Yeah ordered it right on 12 the dot, and working nights actually had its advantage this time since they send me the shell shocker at like 2 in the morning haha. Though I am waiting for a shipment email which kind of would of thought they would of shipped it out today but hopefully tomorrow morning they ship it so I can get my old OS drive switched out since its acting weird.

A bit tired since I only got a few hours of sleep, but I say well worth it haha.

Glad I got a good drive and wish I would of seen this thread I would of bought more to help you guys out.

Nevermind it has shipped they just havent updated it with a tracking number. Sweet cant wait to get it.

I was debating if it would be worth it or not to do a RAID with these cards. I figured either way I went it would be faster than a mechanical drive. I am happy for 90 bucks for a SSD. I imagine once I get time to really get back into computers I will end up buying some bigger drives and doing a RAID.

Also dumb question but obviously still new to the SSD stuff, for RAID the only thing that matters is that they are same GB correct? Just like a HDD RAID???

Yes , cuz if you use a 64 gb and then use a 124 gb your gonna waste the 124... Thats why i just did 3 of the 64gb ssds

Ok thanks man. I usually do just because I want everything look a like haha, but figured if Newegg had another sale like this on a similar SSD I would probably snatch it up.

But who knows, now that I bought a new SSD I am wanting to upgrade everything hahaha.

For RAID0 you want to use the exact same drive. Otherwise the performance will be way off if one drive is faster than the other.
