why 8gb for benching ? Gskill RipjawsX or Pis CL7, very very nice ram.... watercooling ram is pretty useless... either you want performance or looks...

Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

What motherboard? The Asus mainstream boards work well with G.Skill Eco 4gb kits so should do with the 8gb CL8 kit too. If not I'd be tempted to go with the 4x2gb Pi 6-8-6 kit.

Of course if you really want to watercool the mem and want 8gb of overclockable ram from newegg you've got no choice, so a bit pointless asking?

Im using the WS Revolution, what are Pi kits? I'm just seeing what options I have in case I decided to scrap the whole watercooling ram idea.

Yeah thats cool - just pointing out youre kinda limiting yourself there .

If you look on newegg > ddr3 > 8gb kits theres a g.skill 4x2GB 1600mhz 6-8-6 kit for a chunk less than the corsair. It'd give you the opportunity to bench with the best 2 sticks and shove the other 2 in when you want to encode etc. They should do around the same as the Corsair in terms of ultimate clockspeed but cost a bit less and may bench higher in 2x2gb compared to the Corsair. That's just guesswork - the CL6 Pi kits were pretty good on P55.

On Sandy all ram is fast, i'd tend to recommend against spending vast amounts of money on memory.
