Taiwantrade Cooperates With Newegg to Tap Online Market in U.S.

Taipei, June 8, 2011 (CENS)--Taiwantrade, Taiwan`s leading trade website operated by the government-funded Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), has recently signed a cooperation pact with Newegg Inc., the second-largest online retailer in the United States, to help Taiwanese manufacturers to explore the online markets in the U.S.

Founded in 2001 Newegg has been growing very rapidly over the past decade. The company`s revenue reached only US$100 million in the first operating year, but shot up to a high of US$2.5 billion last year with the number of its registered customers growing to 14 million.

In the fourth quarter of 2010, Newegg intended to explore the market in Asia and looked for suitable partner in the region. Finally it decided to cooperate with Taiwantrade, and the two parties signed on June 3 a cooperation agreement to mutually explore the markets in Asia and the U.S.

why would any1 buy an intel ssd when they are made by micron (aka crucial) and the crucial drives are cheaper.

brand name and reputation goes a long way. The average person buying an SSD understands "longer laptop battery life, more reliable, faster" but tossing read/write or IOPS at them will confuse the hell out of them, and intel is a known name.

Aren't Intel SSD's more reliable but slower (ie C300)? Or is that not true anymore?

From what i've read in various forums, Intel SSDs can be considered as one of the safe choices.

the c300 had the same nand/controller and the m4 is identical to the 510

Do the same search but select by: best rating. You won't find OCZ until position 18 and that is from 2 reviews of the Revo drive. Also most hardware is sold via OEM channels. Most (all?) OEM channels won't touch OCZ because their drives don't pass their qualification procedures.

I've bought 8 of them. 4 V2's 120/240gb and 4 V3 240gb. All 8 either died, dropped out or were doa.

Crucial drives on the other hand. I stand by them as much as intel drives.

Why can't we have newegg in the UK? I spend more time doing price comparisons than prospecting for parts.

I can't agree more! It's even worse in Ireland.

I wouldn't mind if Newegg opened an european branch.
