    well, hiv is not yet cured. and if i recall correctly the people with the genetic mutation can still be hiv positive but wont suffer aids (active, replicating hiv)... but nevertheless this is a breakthrough.

    Its a start, and hopefully the scientist can learn from this. IIRC, the marrow transplant, and drugs nearly killed the guy.
