    Red face Strange Bclock

    Hi,
got few things came up and wana discuss with all the gurus
trying max stable bclk on R2E with 920 but things looks little weird
at 220x12 and easy mem at 661mhz 8,8,8,20 with vtt 1.2v and vcore 1.18v, ioh stock and all other volts and settings are on stock.system passes linx and occt without problem.but as i trying 225 or 230 it boots fine even pass super-pi test but cant take full linx stress and freezes with out any bccode
tried all the settings vtt1.45,vcore.ioh,diffent timings with low uncore etc but no go.
also notice that uncore is struggle to go high with any vtt.
is the imc or is ioh related????????????

    Tried playing with clock skews?

Just a normal bclk wall and you need cold to go higher. I don't see what's so unusual.
    Could try increasing PCIE frequency.

@cryptik > didnt try as yet. do you think because is on air cooling causing this as zalbard mention? need better cooling. board does 220 on air cooling without any problem.

    @zalbard > tried 110,115,120.
bclk wall of cpu or board????????????

    probably chipset...
Question : Why do some overclockers switch into d*ckmode when money is involved

Remark : They call me Pro Asus Saaya yupp, I agree

Skews can sometime get you a bit more, but at that BCLK on that board (even R3E) and to be fair many X58's, sounds like chipset limitation. You need cold on the CPU to see if you go higher, if yes, CPU wall, if no, probably chipset wall.

yes but the cpu doent need cold because it all ready running with low speed and volts.doent seems is cpu.i dont understand why even the ioh is running 40c on that bclk can cause freeze is understandable when the chipsets are running hot they need cooling but not when they are in normal temp.

if you start to argue with the above tips provided, soon you will be on your own buddy...

Some boards do over 220Bclock easy, some don't even get there due to high QPI speeds... it's like that... To surpass ya current 220Bclock wall. Try upping the IOH volts and mess with different PCI-E speeds, clock skews. If that doesn't work : Either you get the CPU cold (meaning subzero temps) or activate QPI slow mode ( with a terrible loss in 3D performance )

No idea why you need more than 210-220 anyway for 24/7

no one argue with anyone as you mention just trying to find the actual cause.
